Azriel Thompson POV
Tuesday, March 14th
7:45 am

I give Maleek one last kiss on his cheek before handing him to Ms Daisy. He sets his face to cry and I turn my back quickly.

"Gwaan Azzy, him aguh alright" Ms Daisy reassures and I turn around to give her a tight-lipped smile.

I take up the handbag she bought me Saturday and place it on my shoulder and wave them both goodbye.

Closing the door behind me I let go of a shaky breath and rest my hand against my beating heart. It's the same feeling I got when I first got my job and had to leave Maleek with Donna.

That feeling of uncertainty and fear not knowing what will happen to him without me there. Though I know Ms. Daisy will never hurt him as she loves him dearly I can't shake the feeling off. He's much safer being with me than anyone else.

I tilt my head back as I allow the raising sun to hit me in the face. I have been locked up in the house for days now because of fear that I haven't felt the sun on my skin in so long.

I flash my shaking hands at my sides and take deep breaths trying to calm down my raging nerves. I then lift my left hand to my face and smile seeing how good it's healing though it will have little scars here and there, overall it will look just like before.

I pull my phone out of my bag and snap a cute little picture of myself something that I haven't done in a while.

I open the gate and step through it making my way down the road and to the community square.

I stand at the centre waiting on a taxi anxiously as I stand over the curious gazes of others. I haven't really met anyone outside of Keira and my other family members so I see why most people would be confused as to who I am.

I fan down a taxi and it stops right at my foot, I enter and release another deep breath. Work should be an easy breeze through today.

I cover my face with my hands in surprise as tears fill my eyes. In front me is a table overshacked with baby clothes, clothes for me, tin items, soap, tissues and everything one would use in a home.

I wipe away my tears quickly as Ashanti squeals and engulfs me into a hug rocking me from side to side in pure joy.

I return her hug, more grateful than ever.

"Thank you all so much," I say through tears as I look around at my co-workers who are all beaming with pride.

"You're welcome Azriel, we hope you are doing well despite your misfortune," Joshua my co-worker says and I walk over to him pulling him into a hug.
