Jamarion Montique POV
Friday, April 12th
10:58 am

My eyes shift between Maleek and a frustrated Azriel. She rubs her temple and I relax in the couch more watching as Maleek fights against her.

"Behave fi once nuh, it's as simple as opening your mouth Maleek" She argues and the minute Maleek's eyes turn in my direction I turn my attention back to the tv playing in front of me.

Another sigh comes from her and a smirk plays on my face.

A fi har pickney suh let's see how long it aguh tek har fi get him fi eat that and ready before Ana comes.

She had to call out from work today because the daycare will no longer accept Maleek and her pride is too much to ask me after what she said last night.

The sound of a plate crashing against the floor rings through the room and I turn my head in her direction.

The porridge that she has been trying to feed him from this morning is now all over the floor and Maleek crying.

She gets up from in front him and lets go a sigh, with her head hung down she swipes her hand under her eye.

Hissing I stand and walk over there. I lift him from the high chair. Holding him in my arms, I move into the kitchen, setting him on the counter, I remove the pot from the stove.

Using a spoon I swipe it in the pot scooping up some of the porridge from the corner of the pot into the spoon.

"Open your mouth" I instruct and he gladly complies.

I spend the next 10 minutes feeding him the porridge until he's full.

Tearing off a piece of napkin, I take a glance at Azriel her head is resting on top of her folded arms, I turn my attention back to Maleek and wipe his mouth before wiping his hand.

He stretches his hand towards me and I lift him into my arms.

I bring him into the living room and set him on the couch to sit. She walks over and a sigh leaves her.

With one of her hands on her hip and the other scratching her forehead, I watch as her mouth moves but no words come from her mouth.

I hiss and turn away from her.

Cahh believe a simple sentence such as I am sorry, Is such a hard thing to come from her mouth.

"I honestly never meant what I said last night, I was just frustrated and I-I" She stutters and runs her hands over her face.

"It's just that it has always just been the two of us, his dad has been overseas since he was 3 months, I have had to be his mother and father physically and so it's hard to parent with you being his shield whenever he does anything wrong. " She pauses and lets go a deep sigh,

"I don't know how to say this, without it coming off as me trying to 'put you in your place', but that's far from what I am trying to do, so here goes" I sit up on the couch even more and shift a bit to see her face when Maleek moves into my lap blocking my view of her.
