Chapter 5 - Bonding time

THIRD PERSON POV

As they walked back, they came across a group of Gladers playing a game of who knows what. They invited Kai, Thomas, and Newt to join them, and Kai and Thomas happily agreed, but Newt declined and just went back to work. The game was intense and competitive, but they all had a great time.

After the game, they sat down and talked for a while, enjoying each other's company. Kai couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging amongst these people. They may have been stuck in the maze, but they had each other and that was something special.

As the sun began to set, they all headed back to their respective homes for the night. Kai said goodbye to Thomas and Newt, feeling grateful for the day they had spent together.

As she lay in bed that night, Kai couldn't help but think about the possibility of Newt and Thomas becoming a couple. She knew that it was ultimately up to them, but she couldn't help but feel hopeful for their future together.

Kai drifted off to sleep, feeling content and happy in the knowledge that she had made some great friends in the Glade. She also had a great time making new friends, personally Chuck was her favorite friend but she would still make everyone feel equal.

The next day, Kai woke up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. She headed to the gardening area to tend to the plants, but found herself distracted by the thought of Thomas and Newt.

She decided to take matters into her own hands and see if she could help bring them together. She made her way to the kitchen and found Frypan cooking breakfast. She struck up a conversation with him and asked him about his friends and what could be hoing on around Newt and Thomas.

After breakfast and some chatting, they all went back to work. Since Kai was still a kid ahe didn't have anything to do so ahe qent to Newt, they talked and Kai kept trying to get some juice out of him. The kind of juice that means coming out of the closet.

To her surprise, Newt revealed that he had feelings for Thomas but was too afraid to tell him. "To be honest, I didn't think I'd actually mak eyou admit it!" Kai exclaimed before Newt held her mouth shut. Kai encouraged him to be brave and express his feelings, assuring him that Thomas cared for him deeply as well.

"But what if he only see's me as a friend?" Newt saddened, Kai comforted him, and told him to give him his shot.. "Ok Kai.. Other than Minho you're the only one who knows, so don't tell anyone" Newt informed adding "I'll try to tell him later"

Feeling emboldened, Newt decided to take Kai's advice and talk to Thomas. Kai watched from afar as Newt approached Thomas and they began to talk. She couldn't hear what they were saying, but she could see the smile on Thomas' face and the way Newt's eyes lit up.

After a few minutes, they hugged and Newt made his way back to the garden, beaming with happiness. Kai couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and satisfaction at her matchmaking skills.

Over the next few days, Thomas and Newt became inseparable, spending all their free time together. Eveen though it was a little bit obvious, theother gladers were clueless. They were happy and in love, and Kai was thrilled to have played a small part in their love story.

Minho approached Kai "You did that didn't you?" pointing at Newt and Thomas, "Yep I made Newtmas happen" Kai smiled, "Newtmas?" Minho questioned, "Yep, it's their couples name!" Kain said gladly.

As time went on, Kai continued to make new friend. She found joy in seeing others happy, and knew that she had found her purpose in the Glade.

She wasn't the glue like Newt, she was more of the clown, making people laugh and have fun.
