Chapter 7 - The gathering

THIRD PERSON POV

Hard to prepare for the next day's challenges. Kai and chuck were playing tag, Chuck was a very slow runner so he was always IT. Kai couldn't help but feel guilty for sneaking out earlier, knowing that it had put everyone in danger.

She decided that she needed to make it up to the Gladers, so she offered to help Frypan with the cooking. Frypan was more than happy to have the extra help, and Kai quickly got to work chopping vegetables and preparing the meal.

As she worked, she couldn't help but feel grateful for the community that she had been put in. They had become her family, and she knew that she would do anything to keep them safe.

Finally, after hours of hard work, the meal was ready, and the Gladers gathered around to eat. As they ate, they talked and laughed, enjoying each other's company.

Kai looked around at the faces of the people she had grown to love and couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging. She had found her place in the Glade.

But as Kai was helping Frypan they both heard a scream "GALLY NO!" sounded like chuck, and when they turned around they saw Gally rushing to Kai in a fist and Chuck was running after him.

Frypan tried to slow him down but Gally grabbed Kai and dragged her to a meeting "Gally what the shuck!" Alby exclaimed and apologized to Kai for Gally's usual rude behavior

"She almost went in the maze! She has to be punished!!" Gally shouted, "Gally calm down, she's just a kid.. What do you have in mind?" Alby replied.. "She should be sent in the pit! She's like Thomas all over again!" Gally exclaimed, "She's only a child Gally..." Alby reminded "Exactly! She should learn her lesson!" Gally said "And no turning her into a runner she's way too young and irresponsible!" Gally added..

Kai held Thomas' shirt "Thomas, I'm scared.." "Don't worry Kai, I got you" Thomas reassured, then Chuck went to Kai and they played rock paper scissors while Alby and Gally were discussing the consequences for Kai..
