Must I choose? A Yu-Gi-Oh fanfiction

Winged Kuriboh

Once Jaden and I walked around Domino for a while, he started complaining about not seeing any dueling.

I laugh, and reply that dueling doesn't happen every second of everyday.

He just says that it should.

I just smiled, then walked into the game shop Yugi lived at. Jaden followed just as Yugi walked down the stairs from what I'm guessing was the living part of the shop.

"Hey Willow!" I hear him call, and I call back "hey Yugi!" I see Jaden staring at Yugi in fascination.

"Your... Your Yugi Moto! The king of duel monsters!" He says with excitement. Yugi smiles and nods at the younger boy.

"Yup I'm Yugi, what's your name?" Yugi asks Jaden, only making him even more excited.

"Jaden Yuki!" Jaden practically screams with excitement now, smiling as wide as he could. Which, apparently, is pretty wide.

"Well Jaden, let me give you something." Yugi says, as he goes to the back of the shop.

Jaden starts jumping up and down. "Calm down Jaden", I tell him, almost laughing at how excited the boy was now.

"I can't! The greatest duelist in the world is gonna give me something!" He says, happily. I laugh as Yugi walks back where we were.

Yugi hands Jaden a card, and both Jaden and I look at it. It was the Winged Kuriboh.

This card is basically worthless... I think to myself. But... maybe Jaden will find a use for it.

Jaden said thank you to Yugi about a million times and we both left. I was glad that Jaden was happy, so we both started walking home.

About halfway there, Jaden stopped with a shocked expression on his face. I stop as well as look at him.

"Jaden what's wrong?" I ask him, a bit worried. "Th-the card! It's GONE!" Jaden says.

"I'm sure it's alright... Maybe you just left it at the game shop" I reassure him. But he shook his head.

"I gotta find that card!" Jaden says with worry in his eyes as he runs off. I follow him, just barely keeping up.

Then, suddenly, he stops again, making me stop right behind him. And, he starts laughing. "What's so funny Jaden?" I ask him.

"The card!" He says, still laughing, then pulls it out of his pocket. I rolled my eyes then smiled.

"Next time you lose something, check your pockets first!" I say to him laughing.
