'Well isn't this a great start to the day...' I think to myself, not even believing my own sarcasm.
The bell rings meaning I couldn't move. Perfect. I roll my eyes in annoyance, not believing how this day was going so far. The teacher walks in the room then shuts the door.
"Good morning class" she says, and we all say a quiet good morning. Except for me of course, I was too wrapped up in my own thoughts.
After class ended, I got up and walked out into the hall. I quickly walk to my locker and put my combination in, then open it. I put my things away then grab my book and binder for the next class, then close my locker.
I could already tell he was standing there, behind my locker door before I shut it. "Hey Willow" I hear him say.
"Hi...." I reply, not wanting to be rude but also not wanting to talk to him. "Can I help you?... I really have to get to my next class..." I tell him, just wanting to get rid of him.
"No, I was just wondering who you were dating. I mean, you ARE dating someone, aren't you?" He asks, raising an eyebrow at me. "I... Um... Yeah I'm dating someone..." I reply, stuttering a bit.
"Well?" He asks. I look at him, confusion in my eyes. "Who are you dating?" He sounded bored. "Oh yeah... I'm dating... Well, he doesn't go to this school... He went to my old one..." I lie some more.
Have you ever noticed that if you lie, the lie only gets bigger and bigger until it's too late to tell the truth? Yeah, well I feel like I'm proving that at this very moment.
"So what's his name?" Duke asks. "Oh his name is uh... Kevin!" I shout out, not really meaning it. And did I just say Kevin...
Kevin was an actual friend of mine at my old school. Actually, my only friend. I really missed him at times, and hoped that he missed me too.
"Hmm, Kevin?" Duke asks, not sounding too sure. I just nod my head, then run off to 2nd hour.
~~~~~~~~After school~~~~~~
After school let out, I rush to my locker then throw the door open, listening as it hit the closed locker next to mine.
I put my materials from my last class away then put my homework into my backpack. I quickly zip my back pack closed then hang it around my left shoulder, letting the other side hang around a bit.
I close my locker, then practically run outside, not wanting to run into Duke for him to ask more questions.
But you want to know what I did?
Exactly what I said I wasn't going to do.
I ran right into Duke then fell on the sidewalk.
"Are you alright Willow?" He asks as he sticks his hand out to me. I lightly take it and he helps me up. I immediately let go of his hand once I was up then brushed myself off.
"Yes, I'm fine." I say. "Running away from me?" He asks, I just look at him. "Uh... No?" I reply, not wanting to be rude although I was lying. Again.
He shrugged, "well I guess you'd better start walking home. You wouldn't want that boyfriend of yours worrying of why you got home so late."
I nod, then go home. I walk upstairs to my room and flop on my bed. I grab my favorite book from the small nightstand next to my bed and read the cover.
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl
This was my favorite book of all times. It was basically The Fault in our Stars but better in my opinion.
I flip to the page I left off on the last time I was reading and continue on with the book that I've read about 100 times.
'Oh well, at least I'll end this day with something good rather then bad.'
