When Arya woke up the next morning the sound of the ocean blared in her ears. The air smelled of sea salt and bacon, sending her stomach into a series of grumbles. She stretched each part of her body, considering if she even wanted to get out of her bed. Once she figured she should, her feet hit the floor.
She drew back the sky-blue curtains from the sliding door, unlocking the door and stepping out. Taking a deep breath of the salty air, she decided she wanted to go to the beach for the day. Walking back into her bedroom, sliding the door behind her. She opened the door of her bedroom and walked up the steps to the kitchen.
The smell of bacon grew stronger as she crept further up the steps and when she set foot in the kitchen, she saw a note laying on the island. She smiled, figuring her dad was gone and she began to read the letter.
Arya,
I had to leave a little earlier than expected for work. There was an issue at one of the houses we are working on. I should be home before nine. If not, I'll text you. I made bacon and eggs before I left in case you were hungry. There's money in the drawer next to the sink if you want any other food. Use as much as you want. I spent some time on the beach this morning and the water feels just great! Get some sun. If you get sick from anything there's a heating pad in the drawer next to my bed. Remind me to buy you one for yourself. Make sure you do a little research today about pregnancy to avoid complications. Won't be good for my grand baby.
Love you always,
Dad
Arya smiled at her dad's letter and spent some time cleaning the counters and then got hungry. She took out the bacon and eggs from the fridge, grabbed a fork from the drawer with all the silverware and popped it in the microwave. When the timer for the microwave went off, she pulled the plate from it, mixing her eggs with some ketchup and began to eat.
Her stomach was very happy for once with the food she was eating and when she was done, she got herself in the shower. Her time spent in the shower was used to clear her head and think about all the things going on in her life. Who knew that she would be living on the beach right before the last day of school and her summer plans with Bella would be crushed.
When she was done in the shower, she dried herself off and got changed into a bikini top and bottoms, slipping a spaghetti strap, cherry red dress over her thin figure. It was very loose on her which was great for the beach.
She got a beach bag together, putting her wallet in it along with sunglasses, a beach towel, sunscreen, and a book. Before she was out the door, she strapped her feet into some sandals.
Arya was still in the kitchen, packing up the rest of her bag with Doritos that were zipped up into a Ziploc bag and made her way out the sliding door, shutting it behind her. Her hair was tangling itself in the wind. Moving pieces behind her ear every now and then while she walked down the steps at the back of the house and down the path to the beach.
The sand burned the sides of her feet, and she could almost make out the ocean in the distance. The waves were loud and heavy, and the sound grew heavier as she got closer. Just as she passed over the sand dune, she could hear the seagulls racing over the ocean. Their beaks disappearing every now and then under the ocean waves and when they came back up with food, they went right back down again. A few of them waddled down the shore, close to the waves and when the water came to close, they scurried through the air.
When the waves were crashing back out at sea, they flew back down again. The cycle repeating even after she stopped paying much attention to them.
Her gaze focused on the blue ocean, the waves crashing repeatedly into each other, sending hundreds to the shoreline. She noticed there weren't many people on the beach that day while scanning the shore for a spot to relax.
