It has been a few hours since our little mall heist and we still haven't left the parking lot just because I refused to do so. Me and Ranboo has checked every perimeter around the mall for any signs of a tall, dirty blonde wearing a varsity shirt with the name 'Dream' in the back but nothing.

We however didn't take the risk of checking the river side behind the mall mainly because it was around 7:30 in the evening and it was surrounded with thick mass of trees, but I was starting to get desperate.

I had this idiots sister sitting beside me in shotgun and the brother I promised her is out there already probably dead for some stupid supplies.

I turned to the back seat to grab my stuff and exited the car. Ranboo who was sitting on the dented hood of the car, looked at me with an unreadable expression.

"Load your gun, shoot anyone that walks funny." I say through the driver's window to Drista who was obviously still half-asleep. "Where are you going?" She only asked with a slurred voice.

"Finding Dream." I replied and rolled all the windows up. "Don't go anywhere until we're back." She only nodded and got right back to sleep.

I took out my flashlight from my bag along with a cigarette and a lighter as I signalled Ranboo to come with me. I never really understood why Ranboo came with us but he was good companion especially when he doesn't get attacked and he walks around darkness without needing a flashlight.

"We'll try the forest." I say as I put the cigarette between my fingers. "We can try to navigate around, see if there's any sign we can find." Ranboo followed with an excited hum.

"It was getting really boring in the parking lot." I hear him mutter. Not only was it really boring, It also reminded me of how I failed Drista in providing her, her brother.

Ever since I realized Dream was missing, I just had the sudden feeling that his responsibilities were passed onto me, especially that Drista came along.

As long as Dream's not found (😏) I refused to leave this shit hole, not without him, for Drista.

"What's that?" Ranboo gestured towards my cigarette. "A stress reliever." I only replied with as I took out my lighter, emitting fire to light my chesterfield with. "Oh. Uhm. That's not very safe." I looked at Ranboo, who was scrambling away from me in a weirdly scared way.

"You don't like fire?" I raised an eyebrow. "No. It's the smoke." I furrowed my eyebrows but said nothing about it and only focused on the forest we were navigating. "Don't worry about the smoke, It won't hurt you. Worry about Dream."

"I'm starting to think Dream isn't even real. We're wasting our ti-" I continued walking forward as Ranboo yelps, looking at the bloody baseball bat that almost hit him. "You're free to leave. Get all the help you can take if you even get any at your condition. Me and Drista stays until Dream comes back." I spit out rather roughly as I took my baseball bat back from him.

He thinks I'm hallucinating Dream? Who did he think he is telling me finding Dream was a waste of time? Ranboo was just a mere add-on, He doesn't get to paste any opinions in this mission when we don't even need him in the first place. Although it seemed harsh, I couldn't help but to snap at him. I didn't tell him to help us exit the mall nor did I tell him to wait for Dream with us, he doesn't get to make calls.

The roam was quiet for the entirety of the walk until we reached the riverside. It seemed peaceful and abandoned for the most part and the water was clear. Nothing looked and felt like it wasn't supposed to be there which only disappointed me.

I'm not sure why I'm even pushing this Dream thing so far. Why was I so defensive when it came to him when he only ever annoyed me at the same time make me rethink my life decisions.

I had to admit I become a broken case when it comes to Dream. I hated him but we had a plan, I can't just leave him out here alone. We were supposed to go to our house after this, I couldn't just abandon the original plan atleast not after I had ran from hundreds of deformed evolved corpses through the mall because he told me to get his sister.
