Chapter Sixteen: Back To Normal

JANUARY 7TH, 2023.

— Lorraine was happy to say the least. She had a loving fiancé who she was marrying in just a month and one week, on February 14th, 2023.

It had been a month and six days since act three and Lorraine was currently with Quinn and her friends Vada and Odessa, shopping for a wedding dress.

Since there was only a month til their wedding, she was in a constant state of panic just knowing she didn't have a dress for it. When she mentioned this to Vada and Odessa, they enthusiastically offered to go with her, since ironically Odessa worked at a bridal shop.

"This one looks absolutely stunning on you Lorraine.." Vada said with a glowing look in her eyes.
Lorraine currently had one a ballgown that Odessa had urged her to try.

"It's not my favorite.." Lorraine said in defeat, after trying on the third dress she didn't like.
She sighed and tried twirling, to which she couldn't move very well with the big and long skirt.

"This isn't the one." she says finally, walking back to the dressing room to try on her fifth.

"Aw man." Quinn sighs with a pout on her face. "Is it because you haven't had the "oh this is my dress" feeling yet?" Quinn questioned with a laugh. Lorraine grudgingly nodded.

Lorraine walked back to the dressing room, but on her way she caught sight of a dress she had a feeling about. She walked the dress back to her dressing room and immediately put it on.

She looked at herself in the room, feeling herself glow. She loved the dress. It was beautiful and it made her look beautiful.

She stepped outside to where the girls were sitting with a smile plastered on her beaming face. "Ohh looks like someone likes a dress finally!" Odessa says, resembling Lorraines grin.

Lorraine beamed in the mirror, looking at the dress and grinning from ear to ear.

Lorraine was wearing a lacy mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline, a long train, long see-thru sleeves that had tons of different flower and butterfly designs that ended at her wrist, and a fully open back.

"You're finally smiling-" Vada says with a grin before laughing at her bleakness.

"I'm so in love with this-" Lorraine says as she points out the sleeves and the designs. "I was gonna say that too- Those sleeves are actual perfection-" Quinn says with a smile.

Odessa stood up and grabbed a veil from the centerpiece stand, and brought it back for Lorraine to put on and see it with her dress. Odessa put it in Lorraines hair, making her gasp, while attempting to hold back her tears.

"Oh my god, I feel like i'm gonna cry" she says with a tearful laugh, as her first tear fell.

Vada coos at her, as she stands up and hugs her crying friend.

"I feel so stupid for crying-" Lorraine says while laughing at herself for letting her emotions get the best of her.

"No, no, you're not stupid Lorraine, you're just happy." Quinn says while hugging her with a laugh, making Lorraine laugh at her tears.

Lorraine wipes her face with a tissue, "This is definitely the dress guys-" she laughs again while looming at herself in the mirror, to make sure this moment is really happening.

"Ethan is gonna faint when he sees you in that.." Quinn says, which makes another tear go down Lorraines face, while she quickly wipes it away. "Gosh, don't say that Quinn you'll make me have a breakdown-" she says with a snicker.

Lorraine goes back to the dressing room to take it off, and realizes she could live in that dress because she loved it so much, then takes it off, and pays for it.
