Chapter 37

Lorenzo's POV

As soon as we sat in the car, first I checked all the documents I had to give to my uncle because now I don't want to get involved in any of this and I've had more than enough. My only focus is now my family and my business. That's it. After checking the files, I was ready. I had already signed all the documents so I'll just hand it over to him and turn my back to the mafia.

Also another thing that is catching my attention is Ana. She hasn't gotten her periods for a month or two. I was sort of scared because right now what I'm going to do is scare the living lights out of me. I don't know how it will go... What will happen... I felt a hand creeping on mine and then I realised that I was shivering a bit.

"Lori, you okay?" She asked. "Yeah I am... It's just..." I couldn't complete the sentence. "It's okay Lori. Come to this side, let me drive for you." She smiled and was already out of her seat. We shifted our seats because I knew that I won't be able to drive in this condition. "Lori, turn on the maps for me, please." She brought me out of my bubble and I nodded. After I completed what I was asked to do, she placed her hand on mine and soothed me.

"Lori it's gonna be okay. Don't worry." She said as I nodded smiling at her. "I'm just scared now... Uncle is very cunning, who knows what he'll do..." "Mr Giovanni, look here. Do you trust me?" She asked partly looking at me and road both. "Of Course I do." I answered being obvious. "Then listen, if you trust me then let me tell you that you will be alright and uncle won't be able to do anything to you. Ignore him and his words. Concentrate on what you are meeting him for and it's all done. And, here we are. Come on, go in." She's right though but I feel like if I'll go alone then I will definitely end up beating his stupid ass.

"Ana, come with me. Inside." I whispered, tightening her hand that was wrapped around mine. "What?" Her eyes widened. "I'll lose my temper if I face that thick-skulled man. Come with me. I need your support." I answered looking at her. "You sure Lori?" "Yes I am. Now come on out." I said and pulled out the documents that were needed and we walked out of the car locking it behind us.

We went inside the cafe that uncle had chosen and we saw him sitting on one table that had a gun on the end of the table and he was wearing full black looking his typical self. "Lorenzo, you're here." He stood up and greeted me. "Oh who we have accompanied you, your runaway wife." My blood was boiling on this but immediately Ana placed her hand on mine and silently asked me to calm down. We sat down on the chair in front.

"Here are the documents. Now the mafia is all yours, I don't want to get involved in it anymore. Check the documents and we'll leave." I informed curtly and handed him the documents. He started flipping through the pages and I was continuously bobbing my legs up and down in nervousness. Ana noticed it probably and placed her hand on my legs. She intertwined her hand with mine under the table as uncle was still looking at those papers.

"It's all clear." I sighed in relief and smiled at Ana. "Then we'll get going." I said and we stood up. "Get lost, you loser. A dumb for a Mafia king." "I'll -" "Lori, you're no longer mafia king. Why is it bothering you? He is talking about someone else." She smiled and we walked out. The moment we closed the door of our car, I hugged her tightly. As tight as I can. "Thank you, thank you so much Ana. I would've really-" She touched her forehead to mine and interrupted, "It's done Lori. No need to thank me. I didn't do anything. Now just look forward to our future together. It's a happy day for us today. Don't ruin it by getting all emotional. Come on now, give me your sexy smile." She smiled at me and I reciprocated it to her.

I brought her into a smooth, long, melting kiss. I was glad she was with me. "Love you baby. Let's go and meet our babies now." I whispered. As she nodded. "Can I drive?" She asked in such a cute manner I didn't want to decline. "Sure." I smiled and again we shifted our seats. "Fasten your seatbelt Lori, today you'll see how your Ana drives the car." She said in a manner that actually made me rethink my decision to let her drive. I fastened my seatbelt and placed my hand on her thigh.
