Twelve years later

Anastasia's POV

Today is no different day than everyday. Emily, my elder one and Emma, my younger one got twelve years older two months ago. The boys have gotten eighteen years older and have started college this year. Atlas is still liking Angel, Alexander's daughter. Alex got over his school crush and now is in a serious relationship with a girl named Aahana, he met in his junior school first year. Poor Aiden doesn't have eyes for anyone yet and according to him love and all is clearly bullshit.

Aiden wants to be a cardiac surgeon, Atlas is planning to go for business and Alex is a bit confused between journalism and business and is still clearing his head for it. Emily here wants to be an architect while Emma is interested in law. Everyone here is interested in different fields and it sort of amazes me and Lori. Nana is no longer among us, she died two years after Emily and Emma but they're still attached to her and we all go to visit her grave once or twice a year. I and Lori are forty four but act like twenty two. He even says that I look like twenty two and will always look like twenty two even when I will be seventy.

After Emily and Emma turned three, totally stable, and in school, Lori again started picking me up everywhere we went. We have been going to the office everyday now for two years, and come back around six to spend the evening with kids. We discovered that dad is having stage one blood cancer and often visited him. Father drops by here once or twice every week when we are in office to keep company with the kids. Aria and his husband have settled in Cali so they come here hardly twice or thrice a year since they also had a cute boy last year. Tatiana and Marco are still the same as they were twelve years ago.

"Morning love." This voice still gives me butterflies. He brought me closer to him and kissed me gently. "Morning Lori." I smiled at him. "So..." He dragged, tracing his finger around my tattoo, yes I finally got myself a tattoo, it said blessed with a crown on B. ''So what?" I asked, confused at his mischievous smile. "Today's Sunday. Holiday. How about we all go somewhere?" He always has things planned for us. "You'd have surely decided where. Enlighten me then." I sassed. "Ana, I haven't thought. Really. You tell me. Have anything in your mind?" That's new but fine.

"Not really." "How about a one day trip to a nearby beach hotel?" I knew he had something planned. "You asked the kids?" I know they aren't kids anymore but for me they will always be my kids. "Yes. I did yesterday night only and booked the hotel too." He laughed. How rude. "I'm not coming. You do everything yourself then ask me for nothing. Do whatever you want." I was trying to be mad at him but failed miserably at his one look and started laughing.

"Now get ready, we are leaving at seven." He pecks my forehead and stands up. "I hope you remember Sunday is a secret spilling day." I whispered. "I know Ana. And they're the one who insisted on me for this one day trip because all of them have a secret this time. Like everyone. So I just did. Now get up will you." He placed his hand on his hips. It's pretty weird... On secret nights, not until date have they all shared anything together... It'd be one or two of them or no one... I hope it's not dangerous. We've also told them about our past, and they accepted it with pretty maturity.

I got up hesitantly and as usual Lori readied me. I saw he had already packed my bag and it was laying downstairs somewhere. "Lori, you have to understand that now we are not as young as in our twenties or thirties. We are forty four. Stop picking me up, you'll get in any pain." I whispered as I played with the lace of his hood on the singlet. "We are just twenty now Ana. What are you talking about? Forty four? Rubbish." He replied, pecking my forehead.

He placed me on the couch and sat beside me, twining his hand with mine. "Love you Ana." "Love you baby." I pinched his nose between my index finger and middle finger. He somehow feels that cute. Soon the kids were down together. "Dad, we're ready. Let's get going." Atlas pointed outside. Lori nodded and stood up. "Keep this in the trunk. Be around." He threw our bag towards him, which Atlas easily catched. "Wait, what do you mean by being around? Aren't we going together?" I questioned. "I meant that you and I, my love, are going there on a bike and they are going in a car." He's so cheeky sometimes.
