Chapter 25

Lorenzo's POV

It's been a week now since I've been back to the office. Things are going pretty well. A week before when Ana was sick, they all convinced me to go to the office but I was back at home in less than four hours. Though Ana scolded me, I didn't care because her health was more important to me. Now she is perfectly fine. And kids have settled well too.

That picnic was a secret to our fifth year anniversary celebration for Ana. I didn't want to because it seemed like she didn't even remember our anniversary. Nonetheless we celebrated it, sadly it led to her getting sick but she recovered well soon. Ana has actually been getting very close to me now. She often shares what she's feeling and we've started bathing again like in the old days but haven't gotten physical, not that I want to unless she is ready.

Right now I'm on my way back home and it is about five in the evening. I usually reach home by six after they've come back. Earlier I used to come by either twelve or one maybe late and many nights I haven't even come back. But it feels like now my life is completely changed - no my life is completed, I feel completed. By Ana, by my boys, by my tiny cute family. Though there's still a last danger lingering in the air for Ana, I'm sure if we keep on going like this then she will be safe too. Alexander is back and he knows that Ana is in town. After Aiden was kidnapped, an American mafia gang got to know about it but by then Ana and the kids were already at my place so they were out of danger.

Yesterday I got to know that Alexander has started digging for Ana so now I have to keep a strict watch on Ana. My thoughts were stopped by the ringing of my phone. Ana. I immediately picked up the call and heard her sweet voice.

"Lori, I was wondering if I could take the kids to dad's place. You know after everything he has gone through, now it's time I atleast go to meet him and show him his grandchildren."

I should've seen this coming. What should I do... "Okay, I'll drop you guys there. I don't really want to face him... I hope you understand..." I answered.

"No you needn't come, we will go there by ourselves. You have to pay attention to your work also."

Stubborn as hell. "I'm already on my way back home and I'll be home in about five minutes. I insist. I'll drop you off."

"Lori we're actually.. going to live there... I don't think it's appropriate to stay with you after everything you know.."

"But what's wrong with Ana? Aren't we all happy? Am I bothering you or kids? Did I do something wrong? Why are you leaving me again?" My voice was clearly breaking now.

"It's just that it doesn't feel right. Please. If anything then you can take kids for sometime from dad's place. But I won't come back.."

At Least she trusts me with the kids. But how should I tell her it's not about kids about her. Alexander wants her. And she's only leaving.

"I don't think I have any right to stop you anyway. Fine. Do as you think is right. I have reached home, are you ready or should I park the vehicle and get in?" I asked.

"We're ready. Wait for it to come out." And she hung up both on the call and on me. Shit man... I can't let her away from my sight... But I have no other option. I sure as hell can't keep ordering her to do things the way I want. The kids came running out and I opened the door for them. Ana walked with a bag in her hand and I kept the bag in the trunk as she sat in the passenger seat.

Last time she went away without me knowing and now she's going away with me knowing and the worst part is that I am the one who is taking her away from myself. Wow Lori. Such a fool you are. I started the car and the ride was silent. Surprisingly, the kids also didn't say anything. I felt like the worst man breathing on the earth right now. They're still beside me but I am already starting to miss them. No, I don't want to do this. No please... Tell me it's a nightmare... Sadly it is not.
