Chapter 43

Lorenzo's POV

A few days later

Now Alexander and I are so close I hadn't even imagined it ever. We'd go to see each other randomly when we had nothing to do. They even helped us make the nursery. Due date is just a few days and nearly one week away from today.

So today we decided to go on a little date when the kids were at school now but the weather wasn't really helping us. It was raining cats and dogs today and the cherry on the cake was the thunderstorm and lightning. So we dropped the plan. Helplessly though. We were binge-watching a cartoon movie when suddenly Ana stood up and said she wanted to pee. She goes to pee a lot these days. But I walked after her because the way she said to me felt a bit weird. In the middle of our way, her water broke and she started panicking over it. "Lori! My water broke! It's painful." I was confused. That would be an understatement.

"Ana it's raining and there are thunderstorms.." "Call an ambulance for all I care, do something Lori, it's hurting." Right. Ambulance. It can help. I dialled an emergency number for the ambulance but the line went dead. What the hell! No one is picking up!? "Ana, listen to me carefully, no one is picking up the call and I think that what's best for now is that I take you to hospital myself. Stay calm And. I'll be right back." "Calm! Are you even- oh god! Do anything fast. I can't hold it any longer." She was panicking here and my heart was throbbing so hard I could hear in my ears. I quickly ran towards the drawer where I had kept a bag of necessities and pulled an umbrella out of another cupboard.

I walked towards Ana and slowly brought her towards the porch, "I'll bring the car. Wait." I ran towards the garage cursing at myself for giving the driver the day off. The moment I took the car out of the garage I couldn't see a single thing ahead because of the rain. How the hell would I be able to drive? I called my doctor but he said he can't make it because of this stupid thunderstorm. What the hell should I do!? I'll drive the car nonetheless, I have no other option. It may take a while but I'm sure my Ana is strong enough to bear it.

Frustrated, I ran , pulled the car out of the garage and parked in front of Ana who was screaming in utter pain with tears in her eyes. Here I stood hiding my own tears. "Ana, Ana get up. We'll go to the hospital." I saw a car pull up in front of us and saw Alexander and his wife coming out of it with three of the boys and his daughter.

"Her water-" I nodded at Alexander and he with his wife quickly let the kids go in and helped Ana inside the car. "I'll drive, you sit with her." Alexander insisted. Alexander usually came to drop the boys or I'd go to drop his daughter several times so it was nothing new. I liked the way we turned from enemies to almost close friends.

"Mel, stay here with the kids." I rubbed Ana's back because I don't know what to do. "This isn't how you're supposed to comfort her. Hold her tightly and don't let her close her eyes." Alexander instructed while driving the car however he could.

We safely reached the hospital in about twenty minutes but Ana had her eyes closed already and I was panicking like hell. I picked her up and someone brought a stretcher and I laid her down there running behind where two nurses were taking her. They took her to the emergency room and asked me to stop back but I pulled up a fight about how the father himself was asked to stand out.

"Lorenzo! Relax, they'll call you in. First let them do their necessities. I have already called your parents and her father. Everything will be alright. Breathe. Just breathe." I almost forgot to breathe for real. I really need to calm down. I just can't stop the tears running out of my eyes without my permission. I hated it but I was so scared. My baby is about to give birth to two more babies. I can't help but wonder how she'd delivered the boys.

"I'll fill up the form for you. Until then, wait for their call." Alexander patted my back. I saw a nurse getting out of the room and walking towards me. "What's wrong? Is Ana and my baby alright?" I asked. "I'm worried we can't be sure now. Mother has had a concussion and she can't give birth now. We have given her an injection so that she and the babies can be safe but nothing is sure. She's resting inside and can be conscious anytime, after that only she can give birth to the twins. You can go in and see her." What the hell!? I could see my whole world crashing down in front of my eyes as I saw an unconscious Ana laying down.
