Chapter 42

Anastasia's POV

Lunch was over with a small chit-chat. Boys were talking about girls they like except for Aiden the eldest though. Now we have to ask them for their birthday and I wonder what their answer will be. We asked boys to freshen up and meet us in our room because we had something 'important' to talk about.

Soon their voices were heard and Lori immediately came and sat beside me, his head touching the headboard, just as mine. "Mumma look at our matching outfits." Atlas pointed out and smiled. I smiled back at him and they climbed up the bed and sat in front of us.

"You wanted to tell us something?" Aiden asked. Straight on point, just like his father. "Yes, uhh boys. The thing is that we have never celebrated your birthday with your whole family because of course back then you just saw your dad but never met him or our family. And now in two days is your birthday, so tell us how you want to celebrate it. This year and onwards your birthday will be celebrated the way you want." I explained trying to be clear with my words.

I looked at Lori who was already looking at me and he nodded, smiling at me, telling me that I had cleared myself and did a good job. They all turned around and started speaking in a low voice that I couldn't hear nor could Lori because we both had question marks on our faces. "Is it okay if just the five of us and our little sibling in mumma's stomach, spend time together. We don't want a big party. Just mumma, daddy and we. Will first go swimming in the morning then have lunch, sleep for a bit then go for a drive, then in the end, we'll have food made by Nana and then sleep." Aiden explained.

"Is that all you want? Birthday comes only once in a year." Lori asked. "Daddy, I want to cut the cake too. But we just want to spend time with you. Though we are always home together, we are just busy with our homework or you would be taking care of mumma. And she needs to rest too. Then we spend time with Nana too but this time we wanna enjoy it with you." Alex said. "Can we call our friends in the evening for just sometime and play with them? Then we'll go on a long drive." Atlas asked, scratching his head.

"Now it's final, morning we go swimming, afternoon is a surprise from me and mumma, evening we'll call your friends and at night we go for a long drive." Lori declared. They high-fived him and I smiled at them, now getting close to Lori.

The day passed by easily with small chit-chat with children and then looking after me. It was finally night and time to sleep. "Lori.." "Yes, love?" He turned his attention from the blanket towards me. "Can I work?" It was weird asking him that out of the blue. "What!?" He made a look clearly saying no to me. "I want to work. In the office. I'm bored at home and we still have six more months to spend. I promise I'll leave it when I'm eight months pregnant." I convinced him.

"Ana you're not working and you're not even arguing about this to me." He huffed and sat beside me as he laid the blanket."Okay, so how about we work together? You're the CEO so you do your work and give some of the easy tasks to me so that I can be of any help to you. Please Lori I'm bored and sick at home. It's not like you're boring or something but we still have six months ahead and how much new will you come up with to spend the day. I'm not asking for your answer right away. Think for the whole night and tell me what you think tomorrow okay? But promise me you'll think straight and not directly jump to any conclusion." "Fine I will. But I still don't think there's any need of- ""Didn't I say answer me tomorrow? And anyway, now I want all your attention to me." I whispered and he wrapped his arm around me pulling me into his chest as I fell into a deep slumber.

Next morning I woke up to an empty bed. It just saddened me now. Lorenzo Giovanni never ever leaves me like this and goes somewhere. Is it because of yesterday night? Me working? If it upsets him so much then I won't work. But where the hell is he? I checked the bathroom, empty. Children's room, empty. I just checked that it was past their school time so they'd have left. Maybe Lori would be busy packing for them and would come up? But I'll go check anyway.
