Zhara sighs wearily, yet with a smile when entering her apartment. "You've been coming by alot more often lately." She says as she approaches the dark haired monkey whos just chilling on her couch(like a weirdo).
"Promised to help jog your memory somehow."
"Promised Sleepy?"
"Mhm" he hums, not paying too much attention as he looks through things to watch on her small TV. "You know, I thought he was just being delusional when he kept talking to you. Just stressing himself out to get your memory back."
"Why'd you think that?" She asks, looking through her small fridge.
"I mean no one really knew what happened to you, you kinda just disappeared."
Zhara hums, "Huh, I guess thats fair." She takes out a yogurt cup.
"What actually did happen to you?" He twists over, looking at her.
Zhara takes a spoonful of her yogurt, not really wanting to answer. Before just saying, "Stuff."
"Hmph." Macaque turns back to the tv.
"Man you are picky about what you wanna watch." Zhara chuckles.
"I'm not picky, there's just nothing good." He says bluntly.
"Yeah okay Six-Ears." She smiles taking another spoonful of the yogurt. Zhara sat at her small table, eating her yogurt before remembering something, "My god, do you remember how the Princess acted when you came along the trip!"
"The one at the festival?" Macaque asks.
"Mhm! She was so upset.. even now I don't get it."
"Seriously? You don't know?" He asks slightly chuckling. She shakes her head, "Still so dense." He smiles.
"Hey! Im not that dense." Zhara says jokingly offended.
"You know, I think that kid is rubbing off on you."
"Who, my brother?" She asks, Macaque pauses for a bit before responding.
"Erm, yeah MK."
"Thats a good thing, hes a good kid." She smiles. "I wonder how he pulls through it." They both sit in silence, one at the couch still browsing for something to watch. The other finishing up her yogurt. As Zhara throws out the cup, she notices that the monkey has finally chosen something watch.
"Wow, about time." She moves over to the couch to see what he picked.
"You should've had better stuff." He says
"Yeah, well with all that time you chose something boring." She scoffs. She glances at Macaque, noticing something of hers."Hey, wait is that my blanket?"
"Probably." He says as he gets comfortable. "We're friends though, shouldn't mind. You always let Sleepy use it too."
Zhara sighs, "Fiine." She huffs, "You know, it feels so awkward between us. I have these memories of us but I still feel this rift between us."
"Sappy today huh?" He mumbles trying to focus on the show.
"But its true, you know that!"
Macaque sighs, sitting up and hunching towards Zhara. "You know whats also weird? That you act like your old self every other day. Maybe, not like, every other day but so randomly."
"How did I used to be like?"
"So.. stoic at times but, theres times you can also be like the most eccentric person."
"Eccentric?"
"Mhm. Ya know, weird at times." He says, Zhara chuckles relaxing her shoulders. "You really won't tell me what happened?" Macaque crosses his arms.
"You don't wanna know how it happened, you wanna know who right?" She smiles, tilting her head slightly to him. Her eyes making contact with his. "You have the right person in mind, who would've known the three together are the same group that got hurt by him." Zhara chuckles moving her head back and watching the tv.
Macaque smiles slightly, "Yet, Sleepy still loves that monkey."
"Its cute though you cant lie, he's mad at him but still loves him."
"Didn't he claw his eye out? Or something, I don't remember." The monkey scratches his chin, Zhara instantly sits up.
"What? Seriously?" She asks shocked, "I knew they literally fought, but that far?"
Macaque nods, "So much for love."
"Thats crazy though, the whole ass eye?" Zhara asks still baffled.
"I think, I could be wrong. He had it coming though."
Zhara shrugs, "I guess." She cups his face, her hands cold meeting the monkeys face.
"It's too bad what happened to yours." A blank unsettling stare. Macaque gently swats away her hands,
"Yeah, doesn't matter though." he said, his voice slightly strained. He rubbed his face, trying to shake off the uneasiness that lingered.  "But, why are your hands so cold. Dipped your hands in ice or something?" he asks attempting to lighten the mood. Zhara smiles,
"Honestly, not sure why my hands are cold."
She then rubs her hands, warming them. Macaque relaxes again when he sees her smile and he leaned back against the couch, Zhara scoots over to the monkey. grabbing his hand. Her head rested on their intertwined hands, a gesture that caught him off guard but quickly brought a sense of calm. (Gokillyourselvesbitches)
"Your hands are cold too you loser." She laughs,
"Yeah but yours are freezing." He mumbles.
"Mhm. Sure." Zhara mumbles back.
"Will you try to sleep this time?" Macaque says his tone low, keeping the calm vibe.
"What do you mean?" She mumbles
"Sleepy told me, how you've been barely sleeping. Not only that, look at you. You look like shit."
"And sleepy told me that too." She chuckles softly.
"That time at the theatre too, sorry about that but you were far off." He whispers.
"Yeah, I was wasn't I. That kick hurt though."
"So..." Macaque waits for a response for his earlier questions.
"Sure, I'll sleep. Just, don't leave." she requested, vulnerability seeping through her tired words.
"Didn't plan on it." Macaque whispers. As Zhara finally drifts to sleep feeling safe, her heavy lidded eyes finally closing.
