Chapter Four: First-Ever Pokémon Partner

Starting from where everyone left off, Ash is still trying to get his first Pokémon in Alola.

Currently Ash and Pikachu are fighting against a Pokémon.

"Grubbin.
Larva Pokémon.
Bug type.
Its big jaw enables it to scrape trees and slurp out the sap.
It normally lives underground."
Rotom-Dex informed. "Ash, did you hear that?" He asked.

"Yeah! Thank you, Rotom." Ash said.

Grubbin sends String Shot towards Pikachu.

"Pikachu, jump!" Ash shouted. Pikachu jumps avoiding the String Shot. Ash also avoided it. "Thunderbolt!" He shouted. Pikachu used Thunderbolt, it attacks and paralyzed Grubbin.

"In order to get a wild Pokémon, you must exhaust its stamina in battle, then throw a Pokéball." Rotom-Dex informed. "Those are the essentials of Pokémon battling." He said, turning towards Ash.

"All right..." Ash said, he got out his Pokéball and throws it towards Grubbin. Grubbin went into the Pokéball, it shook a few times.

Everyone awaits for the result.

"Will he manage to get it?" Kiawe asked.
"We won't know, until we know." Jasper said.
"It's looking good." Sophocles said.

Grubbin pops out of the Pokéball, and it digs into the ground.

"Aww." Ash said.

"Shame..." Mallow said.
"You almost had it, too." Lana said.

Ash and Pikachu looks at where the Grubbin might be.

"Pikachu! Pay attention... The instant Grubbin pops out, use Quick Attack!" Ash said. Pikachu prepares himself.

Grubbin appears where the others are, closer to Lillie.

Lillie became frightened and screamed, she hid behind Mallow.

"You're as timid as ever, I see." Mallow said, smiling.

Jasper smiled. Kiawe folds his arms.

"I-I... I am not afraid." Lillie said, a bit embarrassed. "On the contrary, I love Pokémon, as an object of study." She stated.

Pikachu turned towards the Grubbin and used Quick Attack.

Kiawe puts an arm in front of Jasper pushing him back.

Kiawe, Jasper, Mallow and Lillie dodged the String Shot that Grubbin sends towards Pikachu.

Pikachu tried to evade the String Shot, but one of his leg got caught.

"Pikachu!" Ash exclaimed.

"Be careful of its strong jaw." Rotom-Dex warned.

Pikachu was pulled towards Grubbin, and he evaded from the Grubbin's jaw. Pikachu fell, as the Grubbin went into the ground escaping.

"Are you all right?" Ash asked Pikachu.

"Pi... kachu..." Pikachu said, having some injuries.

"Pikachu confirmed to have taken damage." Rotom informed.

Popplio and Togedemaru were worried.

"I am terribly sorry." Lillie apologized.

"Don't worry, Lillie. It wasn't your fault." Jasper told her.

"I'll show you the way to the Pokémon Center." Mallow told Ash.
"I'll go with you two." Jasper told them.

"There's a Pokémon Center here?" Ash asked, picking up Pikachu. "Thank goodness. Please take me there, Mallow, Jasper." He pleaded. "Lillie, don't worry about it." He reassured.
