Chapter One: Secrets and Revealed Secrets

It was a sunny Saturday morning in Washington, Tony DiNozzo and Timothy McGee had came into NCIS and seeing their co-worker, Ziva David, on the phone speaking in Hebrew but she wasn't very happy and she slammed her phone in frustration. Tony asked calmly but worried "Is everything alright, Ziva?" Ziva looked up but she calmed down and she said "Everything is fine... Something just came up..." Tony asked "Like what?" Ziva replied going back to work "Nothing to worry... Tony..." Tony looked at McGee as they sat down and they could tell something was bugging her but they decided not to engage unless she was willing to talk about it, and Gibbs came in and he said going to his desk "We found him, get ready..." The team grabbed their gear and went with Gibbs and McGee asked Tony in a whisper "Do you think she is hiding something?" Tony replied in a small whisper "Ziva David doesn't hide anything, just let it go, McHopeful..." About 10 minutes later, McGee was going some wire changes at a building and an African-American came over and he said seeing a tape at the door "You're blocking the door, man." McGee looked at him and replied while looking back at his machine "Sorry, sir. You're gonna have to use the rear entrance." "Fine... What happened to Henry?" McGee replied "Changed buildings. Sorry again." The man walked towards the rear entrance and McGee said "Target's headed your way, boss." Meanwhile after a little bit of roughhousing him, they caught their target and headed back to NCIS with him to question him and Ziva and Tony were heading back to their desks and Ziva took off the heels she was wearing during the undercover work and Tony said "This is my favourite part." Of course Tony stinked as he was in a dumpster during the work and Ziva asked "What? Riding in the elevator?" Tony replied slightly looking at her as she took the shoes off "Returning home as conquering heroes. Like Caesar entering Rome after defeating the Gauls." Ziva took a little sniff and added "You are in need of a Roman bath." Tony took a quick sniff of himself and he said to one of the other agents that was also in the elevator "We just took down Ajay Khan, the guy who hacked into MTAC last month. Kind of a big deal. Resulted in the death of an agent." Ziva asked getting a little annoyed at his bragging "What exactly are you expecting?" Tony replied "Recognition." The elevator doors opened on the Squad Room level and Tony said in a proud like voice "Excuse me..." He walked out and slightly lifted his hands in the air and said "Hello. All hail." Ziva quickly got his hands down as the agents looked at them and Tony said starting to brag more "We got him. Number two cyber-terrorist in the world. FBI security breach? The Homeland hack last year?" No one did not clap once or congratulate 'them' and Tony started to get annoyed and asked "Come on, what more do you people want?" And Ziva answered pretty loudly to him "Perhaps they would prefer the number one cyber-terrorist. The man who planned everything." Everyone clapped in agreement to Ziva's answer and she gave a chuckle as she walked back to her desk as Tony followed not impressed with the agents and said to her "I see. Two minutes enjoying the win. Is that really too much to ask?" He took another quick sniff and added "I do smell like bologna. Look, I know that Khan is gonna lead me to his employer. Which is why I already requested his full FBI file and I'm gonna use it as leverage." He slowly sat down onto his chair along Ziva sitting onto her chair and Tony added "Feed me grapes, woman. As soon as they e-mail the rest, out little hipster is gonna be singing like a bird." Tony tries to type onto his computer but he kept hearing some beeps on his keyboard and Ziva had the same problem and Ziva asked calmly "What's going on?" Tony added in annoyance "What? The network is down again? What is this? We can catch the best cyber-terrorist in the world, but can't check our e-mail?" Then Kevin, from cyber unit corrected him calmly "You caught the second-best cyber-terrorist, Agent DiNozzo." Tony looked at him and he said in a calm voice "Wi-Fi's down again, Kevin. And Ajay Khan, who could help us find the first-best cyber-terrorist, the digital Bin Laden, we can get him." Then he said loudly in great annoyance while shaking his computer "But we need our computer to do it!" Kevin replied calmly "Since the attack on MTAC, my department has been implementing new Internet security features that have momentarily slowed the system." Tony asked calmly "For how long?" "As long as it takes to make sure that we're safe. Field agents aren't the only ones to take the death of one of our personally." Tony replied calmly "Understood. Just let me know. Always nice to see you, Kev." Ziva said to Kevin kindly "Hi, Kev." Kevin replied while walking over to her "Agent David, would you make sure that Tim gets this? He wanted to come." He gave her a piece of paper and Ziva turned around to read it and Tony came over to have a look and he said slightly mumbling "Mm. What do you got there?" Ziva replied to Tony "Ah, Improvisational comedy. You?" Ziva and Tony looked at Kevin and he replied "Yeah, I'm taking classes downtown. I'm funnier than you think." Tony said being sarcastic "I'm already laughing..." Kevin added "And because of the beard, our skits usually end up with me playing the bumbling terrorist. It's a blast." They kept looking at him still not laughing and he added "Terrorist? Blast? That's improv." Kevin walked off back down stairs and Tony said while grabbing some things "I have to go the Interrogation room to give Gibbs something, you want to join me?" Ziva replied calmly while putting the paper down to go to work "Uh, no, I will stay here, I got some errands to do. Give me a call if you need me." She gave a smile as Tony walked off and Ziva picked up her desk phone and rang a phone number and someone with an Israeli ascent answered and Ziva asked in a slight whisper "Now, can you tell me what's the emergency, Harta is?" Ziva listened and she was a little upset not sure if she should be worried or not and Ziva said calmly "I'll come over to see if I can help, but you will have to wait until after a case my team is doing... I'll see you later, bye." Ziva hanged up and groaned not really having a good day and Ziva smelled smoke and she saw McGee going to his desk and she asked "What happened to you?" McGee replied "Khan's computer reacted to being hacked and wiped everything from the system." McGee also noticed something was on Ziva's mind and McGee asked "Is everything alright?" Ziva replied in a calm but upset way "Something came up back in Israel and I have to go over there after this case." McGee asked "You want to talk about it?" Ziva looked at McGee not sure if she should tell him but she said "If I tell you, you can't tell anyone, not even Gibbs." McGee replied "I promise." Ziva took a breath and I said "I have two kids that have been kidnapped, Amolt Beli, a 10 year old boy and Nashma Beli, an 11 year old girl." McGee looked at her not believing what he heard and he asked quietly "Wait, are you saying you got two kids?" Ziva replied "Yes. And I had very good reasons not to tell anyone about them." McGee asked "Care to share?" Ziva signalled him to the elevator so they could talk privately and as soon they walked in, Ziva pressed the emergency button the lift so it doesn't get used and Ziva said "17 years ago, I married a 18 year old man named Fadar Beli, the man I loved dearly and my father didn't want us to have any kids until both of us were 25, my father threaten both Fadar and I if we ever have kids under 25, he will do something terrible to the kids and Fadar." McGee said surprised "That's horrible..." Ziva continued "But Fadar and I wanted kids and we did, we had Nashma born on Christmas night and a few months later we had Amolt, and Fadar and I had to keep both Nashma and Amolt safe and we had to act like they never exist, but when Nash was 3 and Amolt 2, Fadar was murdered by Mossad, they claim it was a bomb but it wasn't. I had to send my kids to Fadar's parents to be safe so I could move on from my husband's death." McGee was pretty shocked "Wow, and you never told your father?" Ziva shook her head for no and she said "If I ever told him, he would have sent Mossad after them. I had no choice." Ziva's phone rang and she answered "David... Yes, I'll meet you in the car Tony... Ok bye..." Ziva hanged up and she said "We got a lead..." Ziva pressed the button to make the elevator to work and McGee asked "When you're going to tell them?" Ziva took a sigh and she said "I might tell Gibbs later and I will ask him if he can come with me to Tel Aviv to find them..." McGee said to her "You know we can help you Ziva..." Ziva gave a small smile and she said "I know..." The elevator opened and Ziva left to go with Tony.
