Calvin O'Keeffe (1947-2007) was an American basketball hall-of-famer and the red uniformed third of the legendary crimefighting gang the Three Warriors.

Early life:

O'Keeffe was born Calvin Michael O'Keeffe on September 30th 1947 in Anaheim California.

He grew up under the control of his abusive businessman father who was never satisfied with his son's success. O'Keeffe himself claimed that his father once told him an 82 on a test was too low and badmouthed his crimefighting career in later years.

O'Keeffe even fought crime against his father, landing the angry man in prison for life.

"That was not something I was expecting to happen. But I'm almost glad it did because I met my wife shortly after, and I would not have wanted my father hurting her" said O'Keeffe in 1973.

He was classmates with Meg Murry, who went on to be the world's youngest surgeon. O'Keeffe became her best friend during the rescuing of Murry's missing father.

O'Keeffe wanted to marry Murry, but that plan backfired after he met and fell for Sam Pan (of Sam & Robin).

"Meg and I were mad love. We wanted to get married, but then along came Sam; the first thing she talked about with me was how her ex-husband abandoned her and she wanted another one. So I stupidly put the marriage off and threw myself in her arms. We really loved each other, Sam and I, but now I sorta think she only wanted to date me because I'm a guy" said O'Keeffe in 1997.

Famously, O'Keeffe found out he was legitimately in love with Pan due to a chest compression that pulled him to her.

"Meg, Charles Wallace and I lived in Anaheim at the time and Sam lived in San Diego. Apparently, my intuition didn't wanna be that far away from her. So I just followed it. I also got surgery for it, but I still feel like Sam loving me back was the only reason I recovered" said O'Keeffe in 1975.

Home Switching:

In 1962, O'Keeffe, Pan and the Murrys met the Beatles and moved in with them as their friendship grew stronger.

Their home was in the backstage area of the Cavern Club for a long time.

In 1964, the Beatles were arranged to perform with the legendary children's act the Wiggles. The friendship between the kids and the Wiggles wasn't always great, as it's known to be. O'Keeffe considered the kids band irritating and immature at first.

"The Wiggles were nice people, but they had a lot of insecurities in life. Particularly Murray [Cook]; he was all over Sam. They were a pain in my neck when I first met them, but they really turned into pals over time. Anthony and I are still great friends; he frequently tells me he saw me playing basketball on TV" said O'Keeffe in 2004.

The kids' relationship with the Wiggles went a long way for a controversial year with Sir Paul McCartney's love disorder frequently getting in the way of things.

"The Beatles have always been our best friends, but Paul was really acting up then. We were starting to spend a lot of time with the Wiggles because Murray and Sam were dating. That just caused a riot in the Beatles' corner. And then we had this unexpected tragedy of Meg's mother dying, which affected us all; especially, of course, Meg. So with all these events and such, we were frequently going back and forth from the Cavern to the Wiggles' house" said O'Keeffe in 1979.

In 1965, after Pan and Murray Cook married, the four kids moved in with the Wiggles and the Beatles moved into the apartment building across the street from them, so the home switching stopped.
