Jeff Fatt was an Australian keyboardist and actor. He is best known for being one of the Wiggles.
Early life:
Jeffery Wayne Fatt was born on July 21st 1920 in Casino, New South Wales Australia.
As a youngster, he listened to a style of singing called crooning.
Then he grew into guitar groups.
Fatt played in a band called The Cockroaches with John, Anthony and Paul Field.
Career:
When he was in his thirties, Fatt was asked to join the new kids band the Wiggles.
He wasn't interested at first but Anthony Field pleaded with him and Fatt agreed to be a Wiggle.
The Wiggles were a big success once all the pieces were put together.
In 1957, the Wiggles met a youngster named Sam Pan who later went on to be half of the vocal duo Sam & Robin.
"She's an amazing person. When we met her, Murray [Cook] fell head over heels for her. At first I thought it was a problem because Sam was only nine at the time, but she seemed to make Murray happy so that was alright" said Fatt in 1986.
When Pan left Wiggletown in 1958, the Wiggles couldn't calm the distraught Murray Cook.
"You would think it would get annoying, but we completely understood why Murray was so sad. He missed that girl so much" said Fatt in 1976.
In 1964, the Wiggles went live with the Beatles as well as reunited with Pan and made new friends.
Fatt spent a lot of his time with Charles Wallace Murry.
"Charles is a good man. When I met him, he was still a boy. He was cheeky but cool. When I met him, we weren't friends right away seeing as he was able to stay awake longer than I was. But we really turned into mates" said Fatt in 1980.
Later life and death:
The Wiggles disbanded in 1881. Fatt was getting up there in years so he retired entirely.
In 1989, Fatt passed away after suffering from a brain hemorrhage.
He was the first Wiggle to pass away.
Still, the Wiggles lived on. Everyone still loves them.
