We watch as the last of the souls disappear, and Hades pulls us back to the open field on Olympus.
Evidence of the battle is still there. Pieces of the mountain lay across the ground.
The mountain has a permanent gouge, almost cracking it directly in half.
Patches of burnt grass cover the field.
My eyes immediately snap to where I died.
I frown as I notice a distinct outline of my body, painted in the grass.
"When ones soul leaves their body, specifically on Olympic soul, it burns their body print into the ground. Forever encasing their souls here. If the soul ever wanders, it'll always find its way back to its final resting place." Malia says, arms folded across her chest, body up against a tree.
"I'll always find my way back here."
"Always." Malia whispers, voice carrying on the gentle breeze.
A bright blue and white portal opens. Grievus and a human Ceb step out, a chained Ambrogio behind them.
Hades steps out of a different portal, fingers threaded through Leticia's.
"I thought I said the next time I saw you, I'd tear your head from your body. Am I correct?" Ambrogio grunts, eyes flashing purple as they meet Alex's dark eyes.
"I'd love to see you try." Ma says, taunting the angry ancient.
Ambrogio growls and attempts to lunge at Alex.
Ceb reaches out and grabs Ambrogio in a headlock, kicking his knees out from under him.
"Know your place, Ambrogio. Do not touch her." Ceb growls, eyes glowing blue.
Ambrogio grunts but stops struggling.
"Now, why have I brought him here, again?" Hades questions, eyes red.
"Were you busy?"
Hades eyes slide to mine, red eyes cutting through me, touching my hellhounds soul.
I clear my throat, averting my eyes.
"Why do you ask?" Hades wonders, head titled, eyes still on me.
"Your eyes are red. Did we interuppt a gamble?"
"It didn't start yet. So imagine when 3 souls just landed in the middle of a blooming gamble. What do you need him for?" Hades wonders, eyes narrowed.
Aspen slowly steps forward. Her breathing is ragged, but she stands strong.
"And what are you doing here, Aspen?" Ambrogio questions, head tilting.
Aspen swallows hard, body shaking in fear of the first vampire.
"Lord Ambrogio, I can't say I'm super thrilled to see you again." Aspen says, tilting her head.
Ambrogio snorts but meets his ancient creation in the eye.
"Likewise, what is that you want?" He questions, tilting his head.
"Her memories. The rest of them." Aspen says, folding her arms behind her back.
Ambrogio grunts and rolls his eyes, shuffling on his feet.
"They're not hers." He argues, frowning.
"They're not yours. How'd you get them anyway? You were dead by the time she came out of hiding again." Aspen says, arching an eyebrow.
