"I don't understand. Why won't they wake up? It's been 5 days." Alex questions Carlisle.
Carlisle looks over the two unconscious hellhounds, watching as they breathe slowly.
"I'm not sure. Their connection to Malia is strange but interesting. Whatever happened to Malia happened to them." Carlisle says, touching Malik and Nat's foreheads.
Alex sighs and rubs her forehead.
Her ears twitch at the almost silent humming of a portal being opened.
Hades and Apollo step out of the glowing opening with frowns on their Godly features.
Hades glances at the beds with his hellhounds on them, eyebrows slightly rising.
"What happened here?" Hades questions, rubbing Malik's head.
"They passed out 5 days ago. They've been like this sense." Alex says, shrugging.
Hades and Apollo look at each other.
Hades sighs, and his eyes flash.
He lifts his hands, a blue flame covering each hand.
He places his hands on the foreheads of Nat and Malik, causing their eyes to snap open and shift, roaring as they break the beds.
Nat roars, eyes flashing blue. Her teeth shine with venom. Her light brown fur shines in the lamp lights on the side tables.
Malik's eyes flash orange, teeth sharp and curled. His redish skin burns bright against the dark brown walls.
"You're ok. Just relax." Hades says, calming them down.
Nat and Malik look their master in the eyes, slowly calming down.
Nat is the first to shift back to her human.
"What happened?"
Malik suddenly shifts, and his skin is still warm.
"You tell me. You've been unconscious for 5 days." Hades says, folding his arms behind his back.
I think back, trying to remember the last thing before I passed out.
"What's the last thing you remember?" Apollo questions, head tilted.
"I was reading and got a sharp pain in the back of my neck. It burned. I remember a ledger and butterflies."
Hades and Apollo stare each other down, holding a conversation with their eyes.
"Where is your ledger?" Apollo questions Elijah, side eyeing him.
Christian huffs and rolls his eyes.
"Why would we give it to you? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of hiding it from you?" Christian questions, arms crossed.
Apollo narrows his eyes at the old hunter.
"You think we didn't know you had it? If we wanted it, we would've taken it already." Apollo says, causing Hades to chuckle and shake his head.
Christian narrows his eyes, slowly handing the ledger over to the sun God.
Apollo looks at a panting Natalie, tilting his head.
He turns to the last page that her memories stopped on. His eyes widen as he looks at his oldest brother, Chaos.
"Why were you reading about Chaos?" He questions her, running his index finger over his brothers face.
"He stood out to me."
Apollo nods and studies the words describing his brother.
Butterflies.
Confidence.
