𝐋𝐈𝐋𝐘 𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐒 had just turned the page on her absolute favorite crime novel when a bright knock on the door of her dorm woke her from her thoughts. The blonde let out a sigh before reaching for one of her bookmarks and slamming the dark blue book shut. With shuffling steps, she moved towards the door. "who is it?" she muttered to make sure it wasn't Enid or Yoko who wanted to come in to start painting their nails on each other in her bed or start playing horrible music at the highest volume through their computer.

"Don't worry, it's just me!" Lily recognized the voice immediately and opened the door for Principal Weems, who stepped through the door with a warm smile. Lily pushed a quick smile back and closed the door behind her.

Lily Loomes is Nevermore Academy's biggest mystery. Speculation about her is still fresh, even though the girl has been at the school for almost two years. Students say that she is a witch in secret, and that she has never had a roommate because she sacrifices everyone that has ever tried to sleep in the second bed inside the dorm door for her own gain. The girl herself has been told about this many times, but has not said anything about it. It might as well be true, and besides, she likes that many at the school fear her, she can make use of that.

However, she has never had a roommate, as no one has chosen to stay with her. She thrives alone, but sometimes it can be a little scary to think that she will probably be alone, as she is now, forever. Lily is different and she knows that, but it's not something she apologizes for. Not anymore.

"It looks like you've enjoyed being alone again this year. Isn't it?" said Weems, looking around the rather dark room. Lily nodded and made a humming sound in response. The principal paused to reflect, and sat down on Lily's bedside. The girl watched her warily while the woman looked everywhere except her. "Is there anything bothering you, Larissa?" The girl finally asked and took a step towards Principal Weems, who smiled apologetically.

"How would you feel about a new roommate?" she asked, patting the mattress next to her so that Lily would sit down next to her. The blonde locked her eyes and stopped in the middle of a movement.

"I don't know. Why?" Weems lowered her gaze for a moment, playing with her fingers to calm down the nerves. "There's a new girl coming to Nevermore. I know her family, and I think maybe she would fit your type."

Lily let her gaze wander across the room before sitting down next to Weems on the bed. "How do I know you're telling the truth this time?" Principal Weems sighed heavily and turned to face the girl. "You know I've always been honest with you, Lily. You've just had a bit of bad luck." Lily rolled her eyes. "How do you know I won't be unlucky again then?"

"Because this girl is different. I promise you'll understand, just wait it out." Lily sighed and stood up again. "One last try, then I'll actually give up, and you will too." Weems nodded and smiled. She got up and turned to leave the room. "I'm here to help you, remember that, honey." The blonde nodded as an answer and closed the door after Weems.

Now what had she agreed to do? The solitude had finally become pleasurable again after the last time. With a heavy thud, Lily sank into bed and picked up her book. She really hoped that what Weems had said was true this time, because she couldn't get used to being alone yet again. Sure, she liked the solitude, but to go from having a person who has the opportunity to check on you when sleeping around you to not having a single person who even takes the trouble to greet you in the corridor was not a pleasant feeling.

The blonde groaned irritably and put the bookmark aside. "I'm counting on you now, Weems. Don't fool me again."
