Chapter 3

" Dear Elsa
This is Dr. Addison Montgomery . Though I 'm writing to you just as Addison.
Elsa , I know you will not send somebody to Derek over whom he can't operate. But  There are less than 1% chance that Mr. Miller's surgery will be successful and Derek is hell bent on doing it after knowing that you have sent him and Mark has been encouraging him. We also want to inform you that Dr. Burke's stay is delayed. He will not be able to be there on the surgery. So chances of survival of Mr. Miller are extremely slim .
Elsa , As you know Derek has been going through a lot recently and he is not stable. If he operates on Mr Miller and god forbid the surgery is not successful, Derek will never be able to overcome the trauma of failing himself and It is extremely important to him as you have contacted or even sent a message after almost eleven years , he will not be able to overcome the trauma of failing you. He will never be able to operate. Right now things are not good between Derek and me ,things are also not good between Mark and Derek. Right now Derek has no one. Derek needs his best friend by his side. Derek needs you Elsa . I heard you want him to try to work out things with me. I want to mend my marriage Elsa. If you will help and make him understand he will definitely try.
I request you to please pay a visit for a few days.
The surgery is scheduled for day after tomorrow in the evening and Cheif Webber wants you to take full responsibility and As we don't have Dr Burke we would need a cardiothoracic surgeon of both of your level. And it's impossible to make them come at such a short notice and truly no one will take the risk. As Mr. Miller is your patient Cheif Webber wants you to come and take the responsibility.
Most importantly Elsa, Mark really needs you. He misses his sister a lot. Please come for Mark and Derek.

"Let's hope she reads the email." said Addison.
" I hope you know that she also said that she wants him to be guilt free and happy if he's divorcing you." said Alex
"Yes , I know . They are childhood friends . They have almost lived together for half of their life. Obviously she would want the best for him. " replied Addison.
"Let's hope she comes" said George.
"Everybody back to work." Richard ordered.
Richard informed Derek that Burke will not be able to make it .
"We have other cardiothoracic surgeons , they can also help in it." said Derek in a loud tone and Addison came there.
"Derek you know that how critical is Mr Miller's surgery. We will need the best." replied Addison.
"You want to get a drink" asked Derek .
Addison denied, just than Mark came when everybody was going .
"I heard something about drink."Mark asked.
"Nothing I will go with my friends" Derek said.
"You have friends? who will you go with" Mark asked amusingly.
"Like Cheif ,I will go with Cheif"Derek said.
Richard replied that he doesn't drink and went from there and Mark looked towards Derek and Derek replied saying that he isn't an option.
Mark felt sad and said " You think I came here to be Cheif, I didn't come here to be Cheif  neither I came here to win back Addison. I came here for you. I came here for my best friend and my only family. You are my family. I came to take you back."
Derek nodded with a smile and said " We will get a drink some other day."
Mark nodded  and Derek went from there.
Next day
"So any updates " Richard asked Addison walking with Addison in patients room.
"No, nothing till now but I have to check after the rounds"replied Addison.
Meredith came running and said "Dr Montgomery I was in your cabin to pick this file up and your laptop was open and there was this notification from Dr. Smith."
"Grey, Are you sure?"Addison inquired.
Meredith nodded and then they ran to her cabin , Addison opened the email.
"What does it say ?"Richard said.
She says
" Dear Addison
Please inform Cheif Webber  that I take full responsibility of my patient.
I am in Japan right now I will try to make it by evening. I hope you don't inform about my visit to Dr Sloan and Dr Shepherd till I come.

"Oh my god , she's coming "Addison said with releif and excitement.
"Dr Grey please page your friends" ordered Richard.
Everybody came and Richard addressed them.
"Dr Smith is coming for a small visit. I want all of you to be on your best behaviour.She is one of the best cardiothoracic surgeon so learn as much as you can from her and most importantly she's important for the hospital. She's billionaire David Smith's daughter. So she can provide funds to our departments. And This news should not reach out of this room and particularly not to Sloan and Shepherd. She has strictly advised us to not inform them till she's here." said Richard.
Everybody nodded .
