Y/n pov:

Eli and I have been friends since high school. We've always been close, but lately, things have been a bit tense between us. We've been arguing more often than usual, and we can't seem to see eye to eye on anything.

One day, Eli invites me to come see his band, Inhaler, perform at a local venue. I'm hesitant to go, but I eventually agree.

At the show, I watch from the crowd as Eli and his band take the stage. I'm impressed by their performance, but I can't help feeling a bit jealous of all the attention Eli is getting.

After the show, I meet up with Eli backstage. We exchange a few tense words, but eventually we start talking about what's been bothering us. I tell Eli that I've been feeling left out lately, like he's been ignoring me in favor of his bandmates.

Eli listens to my concerns and apologizes for not being there for me. He tells me that he's been so focused on the band that he hasn't been paying enough attention to his friends.

"Look, Y/N, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel left out," Eli says. "I've just been so busy with the band that I haven't had much time for anything else."

"I know, but it still hurts," I reply. "I feel like we've been drifting apart lately."

Eli nods. "I get it. And I promise to make more time for you from now on. We'll hang out more and catch up on everything we've missed."

As we talk, the tension between us starts to dissipate. We laugh and joke like we used to, and I feel a weight lifted off my shoulders.

Before we know it, it's time for Eli and his band to leave for their next show. I wish him luck and give him a hug. As I watch Eli walk away, I realize that I still have feelings for him.

The next day, I decide to take a chance and tell Eli how I feel. I send him a text message, confessing that I've always had a crush on him.

To my surprise, Eli texts me back almost immediately. "Y/N, I had no idea. I've always had feelings for you too, but I didn't want to ruin our friendship."

We agree to go on a date when Eli's tour is over, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us. Over the next few weeks, we text and talk on the phone every day, getting to know each other on a deeper level.

Finally, the day of our date arrives. Eli takes me out to a fancy restaurant, and we spend the evening talking and laughing like we always do. As the night wears on, I realize that I'm falling even more in love with him.

After dinner, we take a walk around the city, holding hands and enjoying each other's company. When we get to a quiet park, Eli stops and turns to face me.

"Y/N, I know we've been friends for a long time, but I can't ignore the way I feel about you," he says. "I want to be with you, if you'll have me."

I smile, feeling tears prick at the corners of my eyes. "Of course I will, Eli. I've been waiting for this for so long."

We kiss under the stars, and I know that I've finally found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with.
