Chapter 25

Bill's POV
I'm a dad. I still can't wrap my head around it. I mean don't get me wrong I love it, but I always thought my twin would be by my side watching his nieces or nephews grow up, but I don't know when he'll be back. I mean he said a month, but knowing Tom. It could be longer. I set Ava down in the crib next to her brother's.
"You know I always thought it would be me that had kids first. Not you." I turned around in shock.
"Tom! You're back!" I said trying to hide my excitement.
"Yeah. I am." Tom said. I walked over to him with a smile, but threw him off guard when I slapped him.
"That's for leaving!" I said.
"What do I get for returning then brother?" Tom asked.
I just hugged him right. "You are not allowed to leave like that again. Unless I banish you for killing my wife. My wife is still alive right?" I asked.
"Haha very funny, yes your wife is still alive and we made up." Tom said.
"Really? I'm surprised." I said.
"Let's go out here and talk. I don't want to wake your children." Tom said.
We both then left the room and stood in the hallway.
"As I was saying, Courtney and I made up, I'll admit I wasn't keen on the idea when you started seeing her because she was human, but I think it's because of the grudge I had for humans and how they treated us being half one creature and half the other. To me all humans were the same. Now while it will still take a while to get used to you being with her and having kids I will give it a chance." Tom said and I hugged him.
"Glad to have you back. Ava and Dean need their uncle." I said.
"Yeah I know. Now if you don't mind I'm going to head to my own room and rest." Tom said and I let him go. I then headed downstairs and saw Courtney laying down.
"Are you alright love?" I asked.
"Yeah just a little tired. Did you see Tom?" Courtney asked.
"Yes. How come you didn't tell me he was here?" I asked.
"He wanted to tell you himself. I see you two didn't kill each other so I assume everything is fine." Courtney asked and I nodded.
"Would you like anything love, you look pale and not the pale you should be?" I asked.
"Yeah I'll be okay. I'm still trying to get used to this vampire thing." Courtney said and I laughed.
"You get used to it." I said and kissed her and then headed to the kitchen and brought her back a glass of blood.
"Drink it. It will help." I said and gave her the cup. She then made a face as she drank it but once she did, she wasn't as pale as before.
"That's better." I said and kissed her. We both then laid down together just talking and eventually fell asleep together on the couch.
