Story 3 Reflection of the heart (Part1)

Shen Wei, a well-known professor in the field of Microbiology at Dragon University, is an introverted person. He can sometimes be considered as the ultimate introvert of an introvert, yet, at the same time, he can suddenly change to become an extrovert who can rock a party. And coincidentally, tonight is one of the nights for extrovert Shen Wei. Due to the heavy load of work and stress from conducting experiments for 3 straight months and now that the results are out and satisfying, it is time for celebration and relaxation.

Though the event may be a simple party, but Shen Wei has taken almost half a day just to get the suits and hair in the most fashionable style. Since he rarely goes out, so each time that he does, he must look his best. After checking one last time in the mirror, Shen Wei heads out.

Little did he know that his reflection in the mirror did not follow him out.

Humans may have come up with various theory on the alternate dimension, but no one has ever thought that it can be very close to us, only that humans have always overlooked things that are near them. The world inside the mirror is another dimension almost the same as our world but limits to only what can be reflected. Anywhere without a mirror, the alternate world does not exist.

However, although such world exists in another dimension, many things are still related and rely on the main world, just like Shen Wei's reflection. He can be considered as the same person but with different personality. If Shen Wei in the real world is a bit timid and shy, then Shen Wei Wei (aka Shen Wei's reflection) is to have the opposite traits that is bold and aggressive.

"Tsk tsk tsk ... I'm this good looking with the best quality ... how come I'm still single!?!" Shen Wei Wei complains at the same time compliments himself. Well, his other self. "I should teach myself a lesson, if I still manage to be single tonight!"

In this world, not everyone will be able to meet with their other selves in this alternate dimension. Only those that seems to lack something or maybe someone would get the opportunity to meet their other self.

At the local bar downtown

This small group of professors and graduate students are having some drinks in their own corner when Shen Wei needs to use the restroom. Everything seems to be normal until he finishes the business and then washes his hands. At that moment, Shen Wei cannot move his body away from the mirror.

'Huh? What happened?' Shen Wei does not understand why such thing is happening and believing that he might have been too drunk. 'Maybe I drank too much?'

"Look up." A simple instruction sounds in Shen Wei's ear.

Because he was so focused on washing his hand, he did not notice his surroundings. Only when he manages to look up does he sees himself in the mirror ... but the eyes of his reflection are not looking at himself? Without given much thought, he follows his reflection's line of sight which lands on the person behind him.

There is a man standing near the exit of the restroom. If it was the usual him, he would have totally missed the person and just goes back out. But now that he is somewhat forced to pay attention, he finds the man kind of attractive.

'Am I gay? Why did I find him very attractive?' Shen Wei asks himself when he noticed his own thoughts.

Now, back to the current situation. The man is relatively tall with a handsome face, not the clean and gentle type, but more towards the outgoing and fun type. He seems to be chewing on a lollipop while reading something from his phone with a rather bored expression.

'He should look cute if he smiles.' Shen Wei comments in his mind.

"You got that right." The voice speaks again.

However, before the gears in Shen Wei's mind can turn and figure things out, he body which initially cannot move instantly move ... on his own?

Although Shen Wei is not that drunk but somehow his body is swaying and walking unsteadily like a drunkard almost the same as a totally wasted person with sloppy legs that are ready to give up and flops to the floor at any moment. And true to his own thoughts, he sloppily walks to that man and nearly falls on him.

The person reaction is very fast. So, he can easily catch the tumbling Shen Wei into his arms. As a result, the 2 is very close to one another where Shen Wei's nose is right on the man's neck.

"Watch out! Are you okay?" The man asks from surprise by the fall and more from the breath falling onto his neck which somehow seems to tickle his heart as well.

"Huh?" The warmth and firm yet lean muscles against his skin makes Shen Wei's mind confuse for a moment before unintentionally looks into the other person's eyes with his round doe eyes.

Thump! Gulp!

"A-are you okay?" The man lost his voice or maybe he was lost in those doe eyes for a moment then collects his scattered mind rather fast and continues the conversation.

"Y-yes ... I might be a bit drunk." Shen Wei replies.

'Why did I say that????? I'm not that drunk!!!!' The alarm in Shen Wei's mind is blaring loudly from his unexplainable behavior.

"Then you need to be careful ... where are you heading? Going back to drinking, though I don't recommend you do that. Or do you want to go home?" The man asks with concern evident in his voice.

After being a single dog for so long, when suddenly receiving warmth and care for from a very attractive person, Shen Wei can feel his heart melting.

Wait! Don't get Shen Wei wrong. Although, he may be a lonely single man dedicating his life to his experiments, he does not blindly go with anyone, okay? Of course, he is not so naïve as to not know when some women or men flirts with him, but it is just that no one can make his heart warm like this.

Wait again! This situation seems different ... normally, people would flirt with him, to get him ... but in this case ... isn't it him doing the deed!?!?!?! Wasn't it him who intentionally and out of nowhere feigning drunkenness? Then coincidentally stumbles into this stranger's arm and still clinging on as if his life depends on it!!!!

"So what? This is good meat. So tender and juicy who is suitable for our taste!" The voice once again sounded in Shen Wei's mind.

"True ... he does looks delicious." Shen Wei says this out loud.

"................." The man is rather stunned at the boldness of the beautiful man in his arms. It is not everyday that you can find someone define yourself as delicious. "Cough, cough ... you're too drunk, let me take you back."

"But ... aren't you here with someone?" Somehow, Shen Wei just forget about everything and goes with the current flow. Yet, he needs to ensure that he is not being trouble or obstruction for the man since he doesn't know him nor know what he was doing here in the first place.

"My friends dragged me here ... I've been looking for a reason to ditch them ... and you're the perfect one ... how about it? It's a win-win, you can help me escape and you can go home safely." The man explains and offers an indisputable and reasonable proposal.

"Don't you dare decline him. If you don't take the offer, I won't let you have a peaceful life forever!" The voice threatens again and again.

"......... um ......... okay." Shen Wei may seem hesitant, but his heart is already firmed on the answer even without the strange voice urging.
