The interviewing and witness statement process went rather quickly. While he was there, Izuku filed a report about the mysterious blackmailer but had to give his phone away for evidence.
Izuku joined Shigaraki and Eri in the waiting room of the station. That's when everything almost went to shit.
"OI DEKU."
Izuku turned around to see Katsuki and Shoto walking toward him. FUCKKKK.
Katsuki made a face at Shigaraki, but his expression quickly shifted to surprise when he saw Eri.
"Wait. So the fucking rumors are true!?" Katsuki stared in disbelief. "You have a fucking child!?!" Katsuki looked between Izuku and Shigaraki. "WAIT. DON'T TELL IT WAS THIS SON OF A BITCH!" Katsuki jabbed his finger in Shigaraki's direction.
Oh right. Kacchan's the only one who knows about... my biological gender. Izuku groaned inwardly. He didn't want to stir up more drama.
"Kacchan." Izuku smiled, his eye twitching a little bit. "I didn't... do anything with anyone."
"Bullshit!" Katsuki scoffed. "Look at her," Katsuki gestured to Eri who was nodding off in Shigaraki's arms.
"Katuski—" Izuku started, growing increasingly irritated. He wasn't quick to anger, quite the opposite in fact, but something about his old friend always set him off. Though most of the time in a good way as he pushed Izuku to be the best he could.
"Anybody can see that you willingly opened your legs–"
"BAKUGO!" he said sharply. Izuku had enough of his temper and accusations. They were in public.
Katsuki startled ever so slightly, barely noticeable at all, but he did shut his mouth. Finally, Izuku thought.
Izuku set a harsh glare on him. "You will remember your place. When we are in public, I am your boss, and you are only my employee." He hardened his gaze. "You talk to me like that again and I will have you replaced by tomorrow morning."
Katsuki reluctantly stepped back, scoffing at him.
Izuku sighed, exasperated. He noticed Shoto's weary glance, and realized he needed to clear this up. Damn you, Kacchan.
"Eri is my daughter," he said to the two young men. "No, she is not adopted, and no, her mother is not a part of the Shigaraki family."
Shoto opened his mouth, then decided to shut it. Izuku could bet it was to ask about a mother— him of course, but he wouldn't say that. Besides, he hadn't lied when he said the mother wasn't a Shigaraki— and had to come up with something quick.
It might have been cruel, but to stop further questions, he whispered under his breath, "The mother left, so I take care of her."
Fuck, why the hell did I say that!? Even though Izuku was regretting it, it seemed to work as planned. Katsuki still asked to talk in private later, but Shoto seemed to be deterred from the subject.
Shigaraki hadn't said anything during the whole thing. Izuku snuck a glance toward him and saw a pleased expression on his face. He caught Izuku staring, and Izuku could swear he saw pride in his eyes.
Finally, Shigaraki and Izuku were able to walk out of the station, Eri still slumped over in Shigaraki's arms.
"I think that went okay," Izuku walked out of the station, holding the door open for Shigaraki.
"Mm." Shigaraki held Eri, who was curled up asleep, in his left arm while fishing out his phone with his other hand. He didn't say anything about the whole ordeal that just happened, which make Izuku incredibly nervous.
