"Adri?", Nysh had turned towards me and looked down at me, frowning. He searched the cause for my reaction in my eyes, even raised his hand to my cheek.
"Come on, what is it?"
"I... know this place", I whispered, my eyes wide.Nyshard froze for a moment, too, then he stood straight again, his eyes wandering around the white hall for a moment.
"Your dreams?"When I nodded, he asked "What happened in them?"
"I... sometimes I thought I saw my mother, but then, it was me. Sometimes, I was wearing a white dress in those dreams, sometimes, there were petals... white petals that turned crimson when I shed tears. Sometimes, there was a wolf..."
Nyshard had pressed his lips to a thin line for a long moment, while he studied me. Slowly, his thumb brushed across my cheek "If you want to go, then we will leave."
I swallowed hard, but then I averted my eyes, even took a step back "I need to do this."
Slowly, I took a deep breath, then I looked up again, met his eyes for a brief moment, and walked towards what looked like a hallway at the end of the hall.
Nyshard followed me.
Just when there were only a few meters distance left, a cloaked figure stepped out of the darkness of the next room.
"Nos demra Sirpal en Adrina yele", the figure said with a high voice while tilting - presumably – her head.
"Grejala", the cloaked woman stepped aside to make place for us to enter.
Nyshard's hand closed around my wrist as I was about to take a step inside. He turned towards the servant of the Whisperers "I assume they know we are here?"
"They have been waiting, Milord."
"I will take care of the payment."
"They haven't thought less, nos demra Sirpal."
"Nysh", I tried to rip my wrist out of his grip, but he put his finger directly onto my mark. It got warm and it tingled, and it almost felt like the claim always had. Irritated, I glanced at him, but he chose that moment to step into the dark room with me.
We took a few more steps, and somehow, despite the brightness of the white hall, nothing of it's light reached the darkness in here. Nothing.
A thud was heard and I spiralled around, but the door behind us – a door I hadn't even seen was there – had fallen shut. The instant I realized that we were trapped in the darkness, my breathing got shallow.
Everything in me screamed to run. But I couldn't.
For a moment, Nyshard's grip around my wrist tightened and he slowly rubbed over the mark again. And it... by the almighty - breathing slowly got easier for me. He waited a moment, then he interlaced his fingers in mine and simple held my hand, while he stepped closer.
"Nothing will happen. Nothing", he murmured inot my hair as he leaned closer. His free hand found my neck, and he slowly massaged the base of it. I calmed down. I didn't know why, but whatever he did, it calmed me down.
But then, wind picked up.
Wind, in a room, inside of a building. I tensed, but Nyshard instantly pulled me against his chest, with his hand in my neck, but his other hand let go of mine and rubbed over my binding mark again. It... tingled again.
"You're safe with me, Adri. I won't let anything happen to you"
The wind intensified, and so did the noise it made.
And the whispered words, that reached our ears became audible.
