Carmen's pov:
Today is my birthday March 14th, I'm not expecting anything special to happen, it's also Zach's.
The best thing to happen in this place is to take over and become in charge of the world.
Eddie's been working on the cure, he was able to find a cure for the cranks, he hasn't told anyone, we've tried it and it cured a little girl but it was outside a lab, just like at a party, and we've been hanging out with the girl and she's been fine.
If WCKD found out they would take credit and the RedRoom kids would never hear the end of it.
It's always the WCKD kids try to start something with us.
I walk i to the room and there i see Kayla and the others with a cake.
"Happy birthday, Carmen!" Kenzie says as she hugs me followed by the other, all saying happy birthday.
"Happy birthday, Carmen." Amari says, last hugging me.
"Thank you guys." I say back.
My Russian is not as bad as I thought it would sound.
"We made a cake, see." Kenzie says, pulling my arm along.
"Jordan said that you probably liked a chocolate cake but Kayla told him that you like vanilla, but then I also made this." She said, grabbing a bowl, it has freshly grown fruits and veggies in it. I smile a little.
'Thank you.' I sign to her, as I admire the food.
"Hey, I helped!" Eddie called, making me giggle a little.
"Hope you like it." Amari says, rubbing my back.
Me and him aren't dating we just decided to stay friends, nothing more. But I often catch him staring at me, in class, or meals, even when we sleep.
"It's amazing, thank you guys." I say back, as we all talk at the table, I mainly sign to them.
"We couldn't find any candles but we can improvise." Eddie says with a smile. He then had two cigarettes in his hands and goes to put them in the cake, when Kayla swats his hands away.
"Hey! What was that for?" He asks, we all giggle.
"I'm not allowing you to put drugs on the cake." Kayla says shooing his hands away.
"My beautiful cake would be ruined, when u told you to find something else, this is all you came with?" She asks, giving him a look, i just smile.
This birthday is kinda crazy and non traditional but who has fun at a normal party anyways. I've always enjoyed crazy things.
Amari looks at me as I just smile.
"Sorry, Carmen. But I did like the idea of drugs on the cake." Lee adds, pointing at Eddie.
"Just not with Kayla in these conditions." He adds, when he sees the angry look and the face of 'do you want to change your answer!' As she gives him a 'better answer but it still wasn't the best words.
"Okay, let's just dig in." I say, stopping the awkwardness.
I dig into the fruit bowl.
"This is surprisingly good." I say, Lee starts laughing. Eddie gives me a look.
"What? Just I didn't think you were any good." I say, Amari laughs, falling into me, Lee pointing and laughing at Eddie.
"Not good at cutting?!" Kayla asks with a smile on her face like she was about to laugh. Jordan pointing at finger at Eddie.

After that, we went to bed when we saw the time, we all took pictures and videos and other things. I'm laying in bed thinking about everything.
Today was a great day. I need to make Kayla's birthday just as good.

Today is Kayla's birthday, the 29th. Me and Amari baked a cake, and Kenzie helped Lee put up decorations, Jordan cleaned, as Eddie Commanded us to do 'his orders'.
Kayla walked into the room, all the lights are off. She walked in.
"Surprise!" We scream.
"Happy birthday!" We say as she jumps up, she looked shocked.
"Guys, you didn't have to." She says, as she starts crying. We all hug her.
Me and Amari did get her gifts, it was two baby outfits, and a matching shirt, we also got outfits for her and her soon to be born babies.
We had cake, and when she opened the gifts, she started crying, she says that it was because she was so happy and the hormones.
But it was all good, Kayla and me even went to our tree house, one last time before she delivers the baby's in a two weeks.
She seemed down, and she took a. Tone of pictures. I don't know what for but I didn't care.

We're almost to the end 🫠 it's going to be so sad but I'm ready that it's over, just now it means that my last school year I actually need to get over it bc some of these things did happen in real life,and these characters aren't my friends name but are roughly written off of my friends and events that happen so now that they're are all gone means that after my done w this book imma have to move on for the new school year 🥲
