Carmen's pov:
Were all waiting in the waiting room right now, Amari is sitting next to me, Lee across from us, Eddie on the other side of me, Kenzie is sitting on Snapchat, Jordan is trying to listen to the doctors.
The door than pushes open, it's the doctor. We all stand up.
"Is she Okay?" Amari asks, you can hear the concern in his voice. The doctor looks down.
"I'm sorry but Kayla didn't make it, either did the female baby. But the other is in the check up room to make sure that we can keep it alive." She says, my heart drops. The girl that was like a mother to me, is dead. Amari grabs my hand.
"No." I heard Lee, whisper.
"If you'd like to come in to see the baby you can." The nurse says. The door is opened. Kenzie is crying, Jordan holds onto her.
"We're going to go into the hallway for a second." Jordan says, guiding Kenzie as a guard follows.
Eddie looks like he's about to be sick.
"Let's see the baby." Amari demands, he looks hurt, just like the rest of us. The nurse nods, and looks at the guard, he moves out the way so we can walk in.
We walk into the hallway and there is a window into the room that Kayla was in, there is a bed with a figure on it. It's Kayla. With a blank face expression.
It's my Kayla there!
A doctor then pulls up the white blanket and pulls it over her face. We all stop walking to see her. In the background is another smaller, wheely table, with a smaller figure and another white blanket, it's Kayla's baby girl.
"This can't be." Lee whispers, Amari holds onto my waist.
"How?" I ask, not taking my eyes off the baby.
The person then wheels out Into the hall, it's Teresa. And the doctor I know how I recognize him he's Spenser, her f-boy. Teresa looks at me and the rest of the group.
"Carmen, I'm sorry, I'm sorry for all of your losses." She says, with tears in her eyes.
"Come on Carmen." Amari tugs me to walk with him. There was another window, with a small baby in it.
"The baby boy looks healthy, he has perfect vitals." The nurse says.
"When will we get to hold him?" Eddie asks, she looks at her paper.
"What happens to him?" Amari asks, I can't get over Kayla.
"Here on Kayla's will it says that she wants to hand over the baby to, Carmen Rogers and Amari." She reads.
"What?" Eddie asks, the nurse take the paper.
"Here look for yourself." She says, handing over the paper. There it was, her handwriting, her signature, this is really happening.
Not it's not, there lying.
"It's all there." The nurse says, I want to cry, but I can't. My life was just taken from me, my whole world was, I didn't know that WCKD and The RedRoom could taken anymore from me but they just did.
