Gabriel pulls up to the school car park not long later "have a good day Cassie" he smiles to his younger brother before he gets out of the car. Castiel always hated that nickname, he thinks that's why it stuck so well with Gabriel, he is known as the trickster to his friends after all.
He watches as his brother drives away and patiently awaits the arrival of his best friend. Cas always hated the first day back at school, too many overly excited teenagers running around sharing stories of there summer, the summer that he never really got to experience, the hectic mess of new schedules, new teachers, new lessons and more likely than not new students.
"Cassie!" The voice of his best friend and that god forsaken nickname distracts him from watching the slow drip of people going into the school. "Not you as well" he laughs turning around to face her, he opens his arms to greet her and she graciously accepts the awaiting hug "it's good to see you Jo" he grins "likewise Cas, how was your summer?" She asks and he rolls his eyes at the question that is going to be asked hundreds of times by students all over today "oh you know.. Same old" he responds shifting slightly "how was Italy?" He smiles welcoming the change of subject. "Absolutely beautiful" she beams "Cassie I have to take you there next time! You'd love it" she practically explodes "you know Ellen, she dragged me to each and every sight, wanting to make the most of it.." She trails off, Cas knows she's still talking but he can't bring himself to focus on what she's saying.
Instead his focus has been taken by a shiny black car, a 67 impala if he doesn't know any better. It's taken the interest of a few people, except Jo who's still muttering away about her trip, but of course it would, it sticks out like a sore thumb amongst a sea of broken down trucks and mostly scraped up bumpers. Cas can tell that just from one look the owner of this incredible car takes pride in it and probably themselves. Cas' suspicions are confirmed when a tall, slightly muscular boy with ash blonde hair exists with a smaller boy. The two of them making fun of each other. By now everyone's attentions have gone back to whatever it was they had been doing before, all except Cas. There's something about this stranger that Cas can't seem to take his eyes off and the feeling is only intensified when he walks right by him, his stunning bottle green eyes connecting with Cas', he stares back momentarily turning his head to see Cas just that second longer.
"Same old new school" dean had huffed to Sam as they pulled into the car park, dean noticing a few eyes watching the car. "That doesn't make sense" Sam points out as they get out of the car "your face doesn't make sense" dean recites, Sam trying to pretend like dean isn't acting like a five year old.. That dean doesn't always act like a five year old in fact. They walk together up the steps towards the school and it's then that dean feels the intense feeling that someone is watching him. He looks to his right and his eyes instantly meet that of a small, quirky looking boy, stood by a girl who's blabbering away to him, in fact now that he thinks he's almost sure he knows that girl from somewhere he just doesn't know where, not that the kid seems to be taking any notice of her. Dean can't help but notice how his dark hair and crystal clear blue eyes contrast perfectly, he keeps walking but he turns to keep the flow of eye contact between them, even for just a second longer.
"Cas?" The voice of Jo eventually comes back into Castiel's focus "what?" Cas asks turning to face her "I asked if you were coming, the bell will be ringing soon and we still need to get our new schedules" she laughs punching him lightly in the arm. The two start walking again but Cas can feel Jo's judging look watching him "what?" He frowns "I saw you staring at dean" she smirks "dean?" He asks "yeah dean" she smirks clearly not giving any more information until Cas asks for it. "Well come on then.. Spill" he states impatiently "his name is dean Winchester" she laughs "I don't know all that much about him but my mom knows his dad and we've met a couple times when he's been in town" she adds.
