Broken- Destiel Fanfic

It's been a week since everything kicked off at the Winchesters, which of course meant the brothers are back at home. Dean hadn't gotten the reaction he was expecting, mainly another fight, instead his father ignored him from the second he walked in the door, telling Sam that he was going away for a job and would be back in a week or so.

That morning Gabriel woke Cas up with a regretful look on his face, Cas knows this look, he's been dreading it for years. "Cassie I'm afraid I have something to tell you" Gabe whispers "no Gabe.. Please" Cas begs, he knows he's going to tell him he's moving out. "Father has come to me and said its not practical for me to be living here anymore and that I should go get an apartment near my campus" Gabe states "Cas I'm so sorry" he whispers. "I'm going to be alone.. With father and lucifer" Cas whispers letting the information sink in "only if you stay here" Gabe states "I don't understand" Cas frowns "you could come with me.. My campus is only an hour away.. You wouldn't have to change schools or anything" Gabe tells him. "I can't" Cas gasps shocked that his brother could even suggest such a thing "if this is about dean you would still see him all the time" Gabe tries "I can't be that far away from him" he whispers "what if he needs me and I'm not here.. Gabriel I just can't" he adds. Gabriel nods and exits the room after telling Cas that the offer is always open to him.

Cas gets the overwhelming urge to see dean and presses dial at his number "hey baby what's happening?" Dean asks his smile almost radiating through the phone "I need to see you" Cas whispers "johns out of town, you want me to come pick you up or?" Dean asks "Gabe will drop me off, I'll see you in a few minutes" Cas states before hanging up the phone. Gabe drops him off and he's at the Winchester household not long later.

"So are you going to tell me what's going on?" Dean frowns almost immediately after Cas walks in the door "gabes moving out" Cas huffs "and he wanted me to go with him" he adds. "So why don't you?" Dean asks "it's an hour away dean" Cas states "I have a car" dean responds. "I can't be that far away from you dean, what if something happens.. What if you need me and I can't get here?" Cas states, any hope of reason completely gone "Cas I need you safe and away from those horrible people.. Gabe is giving you an escape" dean tries "it's not an escape its dragging me away from you" Cas huffs "I don't know why you're being so unreasonable" dean states. Neither of them are getting any where "you know what, I suddenly don't know why this was a good idea.. I'm going for a walk" Cas states stamping out of the door he had only minutes ago walked in.
