Dumb decisions

"Kiss me," Alhaitham stared into my eyes

"What?!" My eyes went wide

"It will hopefully trick the mermaid into thinking we're lovers," He said

"I don't think-" I was cut off

Alhaitham grabbed my face and pressed his lips onto mine in a kiss. His eyes were shut while mine were wide open. Alhaitham held my face in his palm as the other rested on my upper arm, I wrapped my arms around his neck and closed my eyes, wrapping my tail around his. The two pearls began to glow a beautiful blue as we pulled away.

"Seems my plan worked," Alhaitham smirked

He grabbed the pearl in the statue's left hand. His evil grin grew as he held the wish.

"I wish..." He stopped when the blue light faded

"Seems your plan has holes, you can't trick siren magic, dipshit," I blew the piece of hair out of my face

I grabbed the other wish and we swam out after I thanked the spirit of the mermaid. Alhaitham was angry as we all swam to the ship. Thoma and Rosaria helped Alhaitham, Cyno, Candace, Sara, and Xiao on board. Once they were on the ship their tails vanished. I saw them get there safely, waving bye to Thoma who wanted to help me up. I dove under and swam to a lonely cave I called home. I placed the large pearl on a small bed that I made so it wouldn't break.

I began to blush at the kiss we shared but that faded when I remembered it was just his little game. He didn't care. He could play with my feelings all he wants and he wouldn't care one bit. I felt tears beginning to fall down my face.

"Why am I crying? He's just a stupid human who doesn't care about anything but himself," I started crying

"But why does he have to be so cute and sweet when we were alone," I sobbed

"I hate him, I hate him, I HATE HIM! I HATE HIM SO MUCH!" I cried

"Kaveh?" I heard Nilou

I quickly wiped my tears and greeted her with a smile.

"What are you doing here, Nilou?" I asked

"I was going to ask if you wanted to help with the decorations for the festival but I heard you crying, is everything alright?" She asked

"...no," I sighed

I started crying again as I fell into Nilou's arms as she hugged me. She led me to my bed as she sat next to me, I rested my head on her shoulder.

"I did it again," I choked back my tears

"How hard did you fall?" She asked

"Hard enough, he played me like one of those human music boxes," I cried

"He's stupid if he could just use you and toss you aside," She hugged me

"I hate him, I hate his stupid pretty eyes, his kindness toward me, that stupid fucking kiss, I hate everything about him," I sobbed

"No you don't," Nilou spoke

"No I don't, I can't hate him, I feel so stupid," I hiccuped

"You're not stupid, you just fell for a human like him," She gently patted my head

I soon fell asleep on her shoulder, I drained my energy from all of the crying.

I opened my eyes to see I was lying in a very comfortable bed. I saw that the room was like the ones in the books I would read, the ones I got from the shipwrecks I would explore. It was like a human room, with a desk in the corner, a dresser in the closet, a bed next to the wall, and a bookshelf full of different books. I heard the bed creak and then felt two arms wrap around my waist.
