"Uncle, surely this isn't a good idea." Rhaella hesitated.

"Think about it Rhaella, there are many dragons in the pit unclaimed including wild ones. Imagine the tales that would be told in your name, Rhaella first rider of a wild dragon." Aemond convinced.

"I don't know, Aemond. We just got in trouble."Rhaella rolled her eyes turning to face away from Aemond.

"Please Rhaella let me do this for you. I may not ever have a dragon but you Rhaella, you ave always been destined to have one." Aemond took Rhaella's hands into his as he pressed on.

"Fine but if we get in trouble I'm blaming you." Rhaella said making her way to the door.

The pair traveled deep into the dragon pit, searching for the one dragon that would gain Rhaella all the respect she deserved.

The cannibal.

Being the oldest and largest wild dragon the Cannibal was known for attacking and eating smaller dragons. It was very likely that Rhaella and Aemond were putting themselves in grave danger but the two would get in trouble either way, Rhaella thought it better to get in trouble while already having a dragon.

They crept passed the sleeping dragons and stop when they found exactly who they were looking for. His scales as black as coal and his green eyes pierced back at the the pair. The fire was already caught in his throat, Aemond was quick to get in front of Rhaella in a attempt to protect her but Rhaella moved around him. After all he could do very little to protect her from a dragon.

"Dohaeras!" Rhaella shouted looking straight down the cannibal's throat.

"Dohaeras, Cannibal. Lykiri."  She put her hand up showing him that she meant no harm as Aemond watched from behind her there wasn't much he could do to help, if The Cannibal was to be Rhaella's dragon than she had to claim him on her own.

"Lykiri." She says once more, speaking in a even tone  The Cannibal closed his mouth allowing Rhaella to get closer.

Taking a step forward Rhaella got closer to the dragons face. Putting his scales into her hands and giving him pets, The Cannibal sighed right in her face. She laughed looking back at Aemond who had a smile on his face, he realized that even if she got a dragon which she now had she would never stop hanging out with her best friend.

Rhaella slowly made her way around to the side of  The Cannibal, much to the surprise of no one he didn't have a saddle. Rhaella thought to herself "how hard can it be" she climbed onto him carful not to hurt him and took a seat. The girl looked back at Aemond one more time before taking off on her very own dragon.

She remembers always being told that the first ride is always rough but rough seemed to be a understatement for Rhaella first took off. She gripped onto one of the horns of her dragon nearly laying on him and held on as the Cannibal flew his way into the sky. The dragon stretched out his long wings and evened his body out.

Rhaella sat up feeling the wind that brushed through her hair. It was only now that Rhaella understood what she truly had been missing without a dragon. How freeing it felt to be in the air, only you and your dragon with no worries or cares.

Once Rhaella had landed she knew she be in for a earful from her mother and sure enough once she had landed Leanor, Rhaenyra, Queen Alicent, and Aemond were all waiting for her. She couldn't wait to tell Alicent about how she claimed her dragon, Alicent would be proud of her. During her time in the keep Alicent was always kind to Rhaella, treating her as her own daughter when Rhaenyra wouldn't.
