(Okay I'm just going to say this now because I know some people are upset about the last chapter. THIS IS STILL A AEMOND FANFIC. Yes Rhaella got with Cregan in the last chapter but that is just for the plot. Aemond is still endgame. I have been getting a lot of hate over it so if you don't like my book than don't read it there is no reason to be negative. Anyways that all enjoy chapter 9)

Rhaella rolled over in her bed feeling a warm body next, this alarmed her so still being in a sleep state she jumped up. But when she saw Cregan her memory's from the previous night came back, she had slept with her sworn protector. She shook him awake, she knew surely people would talk. Whispering about how Cregan hadn't been at he's post all night.

"Cregan you have to go." Rhaella harshly whispered as Cregan rubbed his eyes next to her.

"But Rhaella shouldn't we talk." Cregan said as he put on his pants.

"We shall speak later Cregan but this can not happen again." Rhaella whispered yelled as she pushed out of the room.

Minutes later Rhaella proceeded to walk out of her room with blue dress on as always to represent House Velaryon. And without saying a word Cergan followed her into the throne room where the meeting would be held.

She walking in for the first time seeing her mother, she was pregnant. She looked Aemond right in the eye as she walked in they both new what would be announce today however they didn't both know what Rhaella's thoughts on the matter where. With a sigh she took her place next to her brothers with Cregan behind her, while Otto Hightower started a speech as he sat very confidently on the iron throne.

"As hand, I speak with the King's voice on this and all other matters. The crown will now hear the petitions." Rhaella rolled her eyes, she always new that Alicent was never the problem it was always Otto. And there was no doubt in her mind that he would support Vaemond's claim to driftmark.

"Ser Vaemond of House Velaryon." Otto allowed Vaemond to speak first, Vaemond took a step forward but not before glaring at Rhaella. To which she raised her eyebrow in amusement.

"My queen. My lord Hand. The history of our noble houses extends beyond the seven kinds to the days of old Valyria. For as long as House Targaryen has ruled the skies. House Velaryon has ruled the seas. When the Doom fell on Valyria, our houses become the last of their kind. Our forbearers came to this new land, knowing that we're they to fail, it would mean the end to their bloodline and their name." Vaemond went on talking about history that everyone in the room had already known so Rhaella tuned him out until she heard his say something more interesting.

"I am Lord Corlys's closest kin, his own blood. The true unimpeachable blood of House Velaryon runs through my veins." Vaemond reasoned.

"As it does in my children, the offspring of Leanor Velaryon. If you cared so much about your house's blood, Ser Vaemond, you old not be so bold as to supplant its rightful heir. No, you only speak for yourself and for your own ambition." Rhaenyra said and it came as a shock to Rhaella. Her mother had stood up for not only her brothers but also her.

"You will have a chance to make your own petition, Princess Rhaenyra. Do Ser Vaemond the courtesy of allowing his to be heard." Otto spoke the the throne he was far to comfortable on.

"What do you know of Velaryon blood, princess? I could cut my veins and show it to you and you still wouldn't recognize it." This angered Rhaella far more than anything else Vaemond had said because while her brothers were still of Targaryen blood they were not Velaryon.

But she was.

"This is about the future and survival of my house not yours. My queen, my lord hand. This is a matter of blood, not ambition. I place the continuation of the survival of my house and line above all. I humbly put myself before you as my brother's successor. The lord of Driftmark and Lord of the Tides" Vaemond was dismissed but not before the glared in Rhaella's way once again. It didn't go unnoticed to Rhaella how Vaemond emphasized the word Lord when he spoke. As if Rhaella couldn't be the Lady of Driftmark and the Lady of the Tides.
