Rhaella flew on dragon back without a saddle like she had done when she claimed the dragon and in all the years after. In the past six years the princess had grown into a women her long white hair grew down to her waste, the purple eyes now more prominent, and her scar on her cheek that she now wore with pride still marked on her.
She stepped on Starfire who was now bigger than her step fathers dragon, she had a meeting to attend with her grandmother, cousins, and grand-uncle. Mere weeks after her fathers death her mother remarried to Daemond of course Rhaella wasn't happy but after the death of her father something changed in her. She wasn't as happy as she always was she took pleasure in killing people for even the smallest things and the only person that still saw the old Rhaella was Cregan.
Of course Rhaella was still Cordail with everyone, writing letters to her brothers. He even rode The Cannibal from time to time. He was in no means The Cannibal rider but he rode him on occasion.
She couldn't help but feel like they left her in Driftmark while they all lived in Dragonstone. Rhaenyra and Daemon left her with her grandparents and Cregan so they could get married and be happy without her there. In truth they had not seen Rhaella since her father's funeral.
So, yes, she was close with Cregan he had grown to be like a brother to her. He trained with her and taught her everything that he knew about fighting, he was her shoulder to cry on when she wept for her father, and protected her from any danger that would come her way. Along with her grandmother who provided for her and trained her to be the next lady of Driftmark, she would do anything for her granddaughter.
Rhaella and her cousin Baela stood next to the Driftmark throne as a man told them of what had happened to her grandfather. He was in critical condition Rhaella knew what was coming, who would claim his throne?
"I love my brother but we must be honest with ourselves. We may greet his ship to find him gone. And who will take the Driftwood Throne."Her grand uncle approached Rhaenys but Rhaella was faster with Cregan not far behind.
"My grandmother seems quite comfortable here." Rhaella spat, waving her hand at Cregan so he would know that Vaemond was no threat.
"She presides only in the absence of her husband. On his death, the seat passes." Vaemond tried to explain.
"Your right, that seat passes to me. Then to my younger brother Lucerys Velaryon." She challenged wait for him to say something he would regret so she could cut out his tongue like she had done so many before. She knew of what he whisper about her and her brothers but if it where to pass through his lips infront of Rhaella he would never live to say it again.
"I am the sea snake's own blood, the closest to kin he has left." Vaemond said.
"Be carful, good-brother. One could take your words for treason." Rhaenys spoke atop the throne in her rightful place, Rhaella often thought it stupid that men thought that a women couldn't sit the throne. So when her grand-uncle began to step close to her grandmother she took a step forward as a warning.
"I speak the truth, Rhaenys. And you know it." Vaemond insisted but his words could barely be heard because Rhaenys had made up mind.
"The matter has been decided." Rhaenys said finally getting up from her throne
"But what if the Velaryon line? Is it to be snuffed out, supplanted by the pups of house stong and gods know what else? Driftmark is mine by all rights. And while I should like your support, I do not need it. The winds have shifted, the crown has a good reason to take my side." Vaemond elaborated but his words had Rhaella chuckling lowly.
"My grandsire the king would have your tongue for this. I would have your tongue for this." Rhaella threatened when Rhaenys put her hand on her shoulder, Rhaenys had always observed that Leanor did that when Rhaella was a young girl and it kept her calm so in the past years she began to do that too.
