Aemond had allowed Jace to make his speech before speaking. But Rhaella knew that his comment about their childhoods would not go over very well.
Smiles went around the table as everyone was finally, or it seemed, getting along.
"Beware the beast beneath the boards." Helena whispered softly to herself as she played with her toy. The comment seem to go unnoticed by everyone else at the table other then Rhaella who sent a smile to the girl.
"I would like to toast to Baela, Rheana, and Rhaella. They'll be married soon. It isn't so bad, mostly he just ignores you. Except sometimes when he's drunk." Helena's speech won her a few laughs and many concerning looks but Rhaella still clapped for her nonetheless.
"Let us have some music." The king demanded and within seconds lively music filled the room.
Jace was the first to stand, leaving his betrothed to dance with Helena. As more food was brought around the table everyone laughed indulging in their own conversation and it seem that Rhaella was the only one to notice the content smile that played on her grandsire's lips.
"May I have this dance, princess?" Rhaella looked over seeing that it was Cregan who asked. She looked over to Aemond who looked as if he were fuming but still go her a nod.
"Of course." The pair danced around holding hands, jumping and spinning until they no longer could. But it seemed to be perfect timing because right when the two stopped dancing her grandsire was carried out of the room groaning, the pair taking this as their sign it was now time to sit back down.
A pig and sheep were brought into the room and sat on the table. And as if Rhaella were ten and two again her hands began to shake at her sides. As if she wasn't the first wild dragon rider and the first to have more then one dragon, she was still nervous nonetheless. She just hoped that her brothers nor Aemond would say anything about it.
But this was proved impossible when Luke started laughing from across the table. Rhaella truly didn't know his true personality anymore, she once that him to be the sweetest in all the seven but now she didn't know. Aemond slams his hand into the table and the music comes to a stop.
"Final tribute." Aemond raised his class.
"Aemond please." Rhaella whispered from her seat next to him but he didn't hear her, he didn't want to hear her.
"To the health of my nephews: Jace, Luke, and Joffrey each of them handsome, wise, strong." Aemond said knowing it would get a rise out of the boys.
"Aemond." Both Rhaella and Alicent tried to say but it was drowned out but the sound of Aemond continuing his speech.
"Come let us drain our cups to these three stong boys." Aemond went on Aegon now too lifting up his cup with his brother.
"I dare you to say that again." Jace shouted from across the room, his hands clenched at his side.
"Why t'was only a compliment. Do you not think yourself stong?" And with that last speech everyone at the table was to their feet.
Jace going to punch Aemond, Luke going to help Jace, Aegon going to stop Luke, Rhaella going to help Aemond, and Cregan following three steps behind her.
The parents tried to yell to get everyone to calm down but it didn't work. After punch Aemond, Rhaella could see that Jace was coming back for more. She used both of her hands to push him to the ground before turning around to ensure that Aemond was alright.
But she heard movement coming from behind her and sure enough it was her brother trying to get to her but Aemond was faster stepping in front of his betrothed. And Jace was soon grabbed by guards.
"Why would you do such a thing before these people?" Alicent asked Aemond who still had a smile on his face.
" I was merely expressing how proud I am of my family, mother. Though it seems my nephews aren't quite as proud of theirs." Aemond took his hands out of his mothers, walking back over to Jace.
"Wait, wait!" Daemon shouted walking in front of her brothers to which Rhaella walked in front of Aemond.
"Go to your quarters. All of you go now." Rhaenyra told but Rhaella didn't listen, she wasn't going to allow her to take the role as a mother when she never had before.
Rhaella and Daemon both glared at each other wanting nothing more then to protect the people behind them but Rhella's dragons roar from the dragon pits was what had everyone know that this would end well. Rhaella still stood her ground as her dragons only grew louder.
"Rhaella, that's enough." Alicent softly called. Rhaella held his stare for a few more seconds before walking to her chamber, her boys following behind her.
Rhaella's footsteps moved faster and faster, there was only one place she could go that would calm her down and that was to see her dragons.
"Rhaella, calm down." Cregan said softly. He just happened to get to Rhaella before he Aemond had holding her hands in his.
"Please don't touch me."Rhaella pleaded just above a whisper.
"No Rhaella you need to calm down." Cregan urged but Rhella's breath was getting heavier. But before she could speak up for herself Aemond stepped in.
"She said let her free, Cregan. You would do well to remember that she is my betrothed." Aemond stepped in. He spoke coolly, but Rhaella knew that with the blood of the dragon coursing through his veins, his kindness would only last so long for Cregan.
"Rhaella can make decisions without a second born princes help." Cregan retaliated now gripped at Rhaella's hands in but never breaking his eye contact with her.
"Touch her again and I will kill you and feed you to my dragon." Aemond whispered causing Cregan to release his hands from Rhaella.
Rhaella quickly whipped the tears that had threaten to spill and continued her way to her dragons. She knew that Aemond was still following behind because she could still hear his heavy yet quiet steps.
Once she finally stepped into the dragons pit her dragons roared loudly but she didn't bother to calm them. Instead she unchained them both and got aback the cannibal. He flew better when Rhaella was in raged about things but still Starfire enjoyed flying.
Behind her Aemond mounted Vhagar taking off into the sky. In following suit Rhaella mounted The cannibal and all three dragons flew off into the dark of night.
