Ni-ki liked Sunghoon. Sunghoon liked Ni-ki. So they started dating. Obvious, right?
Their relationship was full of stolen kisses, late night cuddles, hilarious teasing, epic video game times and sweet movie nights. There was almost nothing bad in their relationship. Almost.
The problem was that they both had quick tempers and said things they didn't mean. And although this had never been an issue before, today was much different.
"Ni-ki!" Sunghoon called from their bedroom. Ni-ki looked up from his phone and went to see what the older wanted.
"Yes, hyung?" He asked. Sunghoon through threw a book at him, Ni-ki scarcely missing it, "What's wrong? You could've hit me" He said, nervously.
Sunghoon looked mad. This was quite concerning because Sunghoon did get angry, but never with his boyfriend.
"If you fucking like Jake then why did you date me?!" The older yelled. Ni-ki blinked at him, "I like Jake?" He repeated in confusion.
"Don't act so innocent! I read your diary!" Sunghoon said in annoyance. Ni-ki's face went from confusion to shock to anger, "Why would you read my diary?! You know that's private!" He retorted back.
"Because I knew there was something going on with you and Jake! The way you're always hanging out with him, hugging at the smallest things? Do you not know that I notice the way your eyes light up when he's around?" Sunghoon's voice trembled as he spoke.
Ni-ki blinked in shock, "But we're just friends! He's like a big brother to me, not a lover!" He protested. "Then why does your goddamn diary have a massive paragraph of him?!" Sunghoon questioned, his eyes glazing over with both anger and frustration.
"Hyung, why can't you just trust me?! If we don't have trust then what do we have?" Riki replied, his tone almost desperate.
Sunghoon rolled his eyes, he grabbed Ni-ki's diary, flipping the pages aggressively before stopping on the paragraph, "I love Jake hyung so much. He's so fun to hang out around, even more fun to talk to. I even sometimes question how it would be to be his boyfriend" He read aloud.
Riki blinked in realisation, "Hyungie, flip the page" He suggested. Sunghoon glanced at him cautiously before flipping the page, his eyes still furious, "... But I would never actually know. It's not like I want to though. I'm in an amazing and happy relationship with Sunghoon hyung, my best friend and boyfriend all in one." Sunghoon paused, his eyes scanning the words, feeling touched.
"Yes, my eyes light up when Jake hyung's around, but my heart lights up when Sunghoon hyung's with me. He's not just my lover, he's my family, my home. And obviously, home is where the heart is." He softly continued, ending the paragraph and closing the book.
A realising silence engulfed them. "Riki.." Sunghoon trailed off, his voice guilty. Ni-ki's eyes slowly teared anxiously, "I'm sorry? I didn't know me hanging out with Jake hyung would hurt your feelings" He softly apologised, sadly pouting.
Sunghoon chuckled and walked forward, poking Ni-ki's pouty lower lip, "It's okay, baby. It's my fault, I shouldn't have read your diary or jumped to stupid conclusions. Can you forgive me?" He asked hopefully.
Ni-ki swatted the older's hands away playfully before wrapping his arms around his waist and nuzzling his face into his neck, "I'll only forgive you if we have another movie night" He demanded, his quiet voice slightly muffled by Sunghoon's shirt.
Sunghoon laughed, "Fine, fine. I'm sorry, I'll make it up to you." He agreed, wrapping his arms around the younger.
