The title was inspired by a YunJayKi book I am writing
Ni-ki walked to the till and smiled at Jay. "Good morning, hyung, can I have a hot chocolate please?" He said. Jay nodded and smiled back. "The usual? Cream and marshalllows?" He asked and Ni-ki nodded.
Jay went to prepare his drink. While he waited, Ni-ki took out his Korean language textbook, seemingly struggling with the lesson.
Jay grunted with the hot chocolate and set it aside on the table next to Ni-ki.
Ni-ki looked pretty stressed. Jay noticed and asked, "Is everything okay there, Ni-ki?"
Ni-ki looked up to face Jay, a small frown on his face. "I'm just having a hard time with this section. There's a lot of new vocabulary I'm not familiar with."
Without missing a beat, Jay asked, "Do you want me to help you translate it into Japanese? I'm pretty fluent in both languages."
Ni-ki's face immediately lit up. "Really? That would be amazing!" he exclaimed.
Jay sat down next to Ni-ki and patiently worked his way through the pages, explaining each new word and phrase in a way that Ni-ki could easily understand.
Ni-ki thanked him, "Thank you! That made it so much more easy to understand!" He said with a bow. Jay laughed and patted his shoulder. "Anytime, just don't bow to me, it makes me feel old." Ni-ki laughed back and beamed at him.
As Ni-ki walked home, he couldn't help but feel like he was forgetting something, and then it hit him, he had left his study notebook in the cafe.
He turned around, about to go back to get it when he saw Jay walking towards him, "You left it inside." He said with a warm smile as he handed the notebook to Ni-ki.
"Thank you!" Ni-ki said brightly as Jay nodded and walked off.
As Ni-ki looked down at the notebook in his hand, he realised a page had been bookmarked. As he opened the page, he saw a small note.

Ni-ki felt a warm feeling as he held the notebook to his chest and hugged it as he looked behind and saw Jay glancing at him with a shy smile from the cafe window.
This was the start of something special.
