🧸 OUR Birthday Hour - Hoonki

"Isn't it weird to think that if I was born a day earlier we would have the same birthday?" The younger mused, staring at the ceiling as the members slept.

They were doing a slumber party episode and only Riki and Sunghoon were awake right now

"It sounds weird, but I would have enjoyed it like that." The older replied, smiling slightly.

"True. Hey, it's almost 12 AM, the ending of your birthday and the beginning of mine, hyung." Ni-ki said mischievously, looking at his watch.

Sunghoon rolled his eyes, "You know 12 AM is technically in both of our days right? The beginning of yours and the end of mine." He replied.

Riki's eyes lit up, "So technically, we share a birthday for one minute until it's 12:01?"

Sunghoon chuckled, "Pretty much. But one minute of sharing a birthday is pointless. Maybe we could share the hour 12 AM until it's 1 AM. It's a time where we could come together, I suppose." He stated.

"So I'm other words, basically it's kind of our Together Time?" Ni-ki responded, smiling brightly.

"Yeah, I guess it is. But 'Together Time' sounds like something they would use in nurseries for babies when they need to sit in a circle for show and tell. What about... Hoonki Hour?" Sunghoon suggested.

"Hoonki Hour sounds boring. It sounds like a book professors would read, hyung" Riki protested quietly.

"Oh well, let's just stick to Our Birthday Hour." Sunghoon rolled his eyes and said.

The younger nodded, "So what will we do in this hour?" He asked, his eyes sparkling.

"It's late, Riki, we can't do much at this time. Hm, maybe we could order some food and go to the rooftop?" He asked, contemplating their choices.

"That would be a good idea, but it's way too cold outside, no way am I going to the rooftop." Ni-ki stubbornly declared.

Sunghoon facepalmed.

"Ducklings always listen to the older ducks, but you don't even do that!" He teased, sighing.

Heeseung moved in his sleep, slightly stirring at their loud conversation.

"But I'm a baby puma, not a duckling" Riki protested with those ducklings lips.

The older rolled his eyes, "Say that to your lips and to the 8 million engenes and hundreds of staff."

"Fine, whatever." Riki thought for a second, "I'd rather just watch movies."

Sunghoon groaned, "you always watch movies."

"Fine, let's merge our ideas together, we can order food of your choice and then we can watch movies and dramas together" Ni-ki suggested, smiling.

It had been a while since Hoonki had spent quality time together, but now they had a chance.

Sunghoon thought about it and smiled, "okay."

They were watching K-dramas in the living room, chilling under some blankets and eating food that Sunghoon had ordered, including tiramisu, obviously.

And even if they agreed it would be Sunghoon's choice of food, he let Riki choose too, bungeopang, duh.

Ni-ki looked away from the TV and at the clock.

12:59 AM.

The clock ticked again.

1:00 AM.

"Happy birthday beginning hour, Riki" Sunghoon said brightly, putting an arm around the younger who grinned back at him.

"Happy birthday ending hour, Sunghoonie hyung."

They continued to watch the movies and relax, both in their own Hoonki world.

They both knew something was there, more than just friendship, but that is a story for another time.

After all, who knew what could happen between them in the next birthday hour?

The two boys fell asleep after, surrounded by empty food boxes and the hum of the still-running TV.

It was a simple way to spend their Together Time or their Hoonki Hour (whatever they call it), but sometimes it's not about how you spend your special time, but who you spend it with.
