Heeseung and Ni-ki slept soundly. Ni-ki's face was resting on Heeseung's chest, the older's arms around him, their hands intwined, their legs messily tangled. It had been ages since they hid from the zombies outside, and they somehow fell asleep during it.
They found comfort in each other's presence even in the midst of their ongoing feud. As the moonlight bathed the room, a sense of tranquility embraced them, temporarily shielding them from the chaotic world outside.
But their slumber was violently interrupted by the sound of shattering glass and guttural moans. The room was flooded with darkness as the power grid failed, leaving them vulnerable to the horrors lurking just beyond their door.
Heeseung jolted awake, his eyes wide with panic. He frantically shook Ni-ki, trying to rouse him from his deep sleep. "Ni-ki! Wake up! We have to get out of here, now!"
Ni-ki groggily blinked his eyes open, confusion marring his usually sharp features. "What... happened? Heeseung, what's going on?"
Without wasting any time, Heeseung pulled Ni-ki close, holding him protectively. "It's the zombies, Ni-ki. They've broken in. We are the last people alive."
Fear and disbelief etched across Ni-ki's face as he absorbed the gravity of the situation. "No... this can't be real. We can't die like this."
The room echoed with distant screeches and the thud of zombies approaching. Heeseung's grip on Ni-ki tightened, his voice filled with determination. "We won't, Ni-ki. I won't let anything happen to you. We fight, together."
Ni-ki nodded, their eyes locked together in a shared understanding. They had spent months bickering and competing, but an unspoken bond had formed beneath the surface - a bond that would now be put to the ultimate test.
They grabbed whatever makeshift weapons they could find, ready to face the swarm of undead that lay in wait just outside their door. The air was thick with tension as they shared one last desperate glance before stepping out into the unknown.
The battle was fierce, their hearts pounding in sync as they fought side by side. Bravery fueled by love, they used each other's strength to survive, watching out for one another amidst the chaos.
But ultimately, the zombies were too relentless, too overwhelming. Cornered and exhausted, they retreated back into their room, their sanctuary dwindling around them.
With tears streaming down their faces, Heeseung held Ni-ki tightly, their bodies trembling with resignation. "I'm sorry, Ni-ki. I couldn't protect you."
Ni-ki's voice was choked with emotion as he pressed his forehead against Heeseung's, their tears mingling together. "It's not your fault, Heeseung. We fought until the end. At least we're here, together."
As the snarls grew louder, they huddled close, finding solace and warmth in each other's embrace. Their intertwined fingers, a symbol of unity, tightened one last time. They closed their eyes, their hearts pounding as one, and faced the inevitable fate that awaited them.
In their final moments, their love prevailed, transcending even death itself. And within the confines of that cold, barren room, Heeseung and Ni-ki departed the world, forever locked in an eternal embrace.
