July 6th
We have met around six to seven possible candidates, but we just didn't feel any of them were right for our family or for Jack. Today we meet another one, but I don't see it going through, anyway.
"Hey Jen, when do you think she'll show up? I'm getting late for my meeting." Carl utters.
Just before I reply, I hear the doorbell, and I rush to open it. "Hi, Mrs. Hill. I'm Nancy. Pleased to meet you!" she squeals.
"Please come in and call me Jenny!" Wow, that's a first, I thought to myself, guessing her age.
"This is Carl Hill, my husband. Carl, this is Ms. Nancy." I introduce them, hoping he likes her.
We sit down for a sweet fifteen minutes, and I already like her. She's unlike anyone I've ever seen. She brightens up the room whenever she talks, and oh my God! Her voice!! Oh, so sweet!
She explains her love for children and how she could not bear children of her own and decided to choose this profession. That's when I decided to hire her, no matter what.
Suddenly, I hear Jack running out of the room with teary eyes. He must've woken up and seen me missing, I think to myself, and I get up to go calm him.
To my utter surprise, Nancy goes over to him and soothes him with her sweet talk and cute gestures. Carl and I are just shocked, looking at them and back at each other.
"I'm so sorry, Mrs. Hill. I mean Jenny!" She stammers.
"I just couldn't bear to see that sweet boy like that. I'm sorry if I was overstepping." She apologizes.
"Please, you don't have to be sorry. I've never seen Jack so comfortable with a stranger before." I assure her.
Before saying anything else, I raise my eyebrows to Carl to get his approval, and he nods with a smile. "Ms. Nancy! We would like you to be a nanny for our son if you are willing to." I state this to her, hopefully.
"That'll be my pleasure, ma'am." She chimes.
