August 14th

I wake up suddenly to the sound of Jack giggling and playing with Carl. I look out the window, and the storm has done a number on the yard. A few
branches were all over the driveway, too.
Nancy was nowhere to be found. It's a good thing, I think to myself. I prepare breakfast and ask Carl to invite Kevin and Paula. They arrive within minutes. We all sit down and discuss the matter. Should we lodge a complaint against Nancy and her thug friends? Carl and Kevin are really eager to do something about her. But I don't want to give any chance for them to hold a grudge against us. So I asked them to leave it. Paula sympathizes with me.
We went to the outhouse and packed all her stuff up and threw it in the garbage can. I take a look at the room she was living in and take a deep breath. I hope I never have to see her again, I think to myself.
