"Shit..." Vi said so herself looking down at Caitlyn's unconscious body. She had lost too much blood or maybe it was all too much at once. Vi had known Caitlyn for three days and she never saw the woman eat or sleep. She barely saw her drink any water. "I'm so sorry..." Vi said cupping Caitlyn's face.
There was a decent view of what was left of the council building. That rocket went straight through the courtroom window, probably killing everyone in the room. That would include Caitlyn's best friend and mother.
Vi tried to gently shake Caitlyn to wake her up and see if she could regain just a little consciousness. She tried for five minutes and it didn't work. Vi didn't know where to take her. She still didn't know her that well either. Vi knew were she herself would wanna go if she were in the same predicament as Caitlyn. She'd wanna go home with her family. She couldn't say the same now, but she couldn't let someone else lose everything because of her. Look where that left Powder: Lifeless at the bottom this cold well. Just like Jinx had told her.
There was a skill that Vi was actually useful for: knowing the way to every place she's been to. She had only been to Caitlyn's house once and she knew how to get there. Mainly because Caitlyn told her how and she remembered the exact way. The only problem was getting Caitlyn to said location. Vi wanted to pick her up and she knew she could if she were in a better condition. She needed food, sleep, and medical attention more than anything, and carrying Caitlyn from one city to another wasn't a good idea. "Vi," A voice said.
Vi looked up to see Ekko removing his mask. His hover board was tucked under his arm and there had been a spot on his leg wrapped in gauze, "Are you okay?" He asked putting down the mask and the hover board. He looked down at Caitlyn who was still unconscious.
"I don't know what to do," Vi said. She wasn't crying and she surprisingly wasn't angry either. She was more tired than anything, "I feel like if I take her back to her house, her dad's gonna be there. He's gonna think I did it."
"You probably shouldn't pick anyone up right now. Even if they're light."
"I know. I couldn't just leave her here though. You don't just leave someone unconscious and injured in the Undercity."
"You don't leave them bleeding out either," Ekko said wiping the blood from Caitlyn's leg onto the rough cloth of his shirt, "We're not far from the fort."
"What are you even doing out here?" Vi asked.
"The explosion woke me and some of the kids up. Someone came running back screaming at me."
"You know who did it, right?"
"That's not important right now. We need to get her out of here before the enforcers find us."
"Her dad probably has a search party for her by now."
"Exactly," Ekko said as he picked Caitlyn up without any problems. He noticed a slight bruising on her leg as if someone had squeezed it as hard as possible, "What's this?"
"What's what?" Vi asked seeing Ekko rub his finger over the bruising.
"Have you seen her eat or drink anything?"
"No. She probably did a couple hours again when... I, um..."
"Jesus, Vi."
"I didn't know what to do. I thought it would help. Don't judge me right now."
"I'm not. Maybe she's just dehydrated."
"She probably is. She was too damn worried about that gemstone."
