————————
It's so weird...
That we care so much until we don't...
But next week, I hope I'm somewhere laughing...
To anybody asking, I promise I'll be fine...
I've had some trauma, did things I didn't wanna...
Was too afraid to tell ya, but now, I think it's time
————————"516," said the warden, leaning on the bars of Vi's jail cell, "Welcome."
"I have a name," Vi hissed, holding her sprained arm.
"That's your name from now on, 516. Your name is no longer Violet unless someone looks at your file."
"How long am I gonna be in here?"
The warden smiled and looked at a couple of papers in his hand, "Looks like twenty five years."
"Twenty five years?! If one of your own kind stole something like I did, you wouldn't even get five years!"
"You didn't just steal, you blew a hole in a building."
"I didn't do that!"
"Then who did? One of the three others you were with? They're dead, so you're getting their sentence."
"Fuck you," Vi spat. The warden scoffed and walked off. She sat there until his large shadow cast over her again. This time he was holding a crowbar, "What now?" She asked.
The cell door opened and the warden stepped in, standing over Vi. He looked down at her before he raised the crowbar and struck her, "Fuck you too, goddamn trencher," he said before leaving her in the cold floor.
Vi spat the blood on the floor she was laying on, feeling weaker than she's ever felt in her life, "I just want my sister!" She cried. The warden didn't respond. She sobbed as a guard came and closed the cell door. She was new with her blue hair tied in a low ponytail. Vi could see the pity in her eye, but knew she couldn't do anything.
Caitlyn closed that door... that's why Vi thought she had met her once before this whole time. Why she called her "cupcake" before she even did a seriously kind act. That young enforcer with the blue hair and the low ponytail that showed her as much pity as she could with one look. She was a trainee. After that, Vi never saw her until she came back to get her out. Is that why Caitlyn got her out? She was obviously there to get information from someone Vi beat the shit out of, yet she got Vi out of the cell.
"How's Caitlyn doing?" Ekko asked, snapping Vi out of her thoughts. She was just thinking about her and now she had to talk to Ekko about her...
"She's fine," Vi said, clasping her hands together, "Her leg's swollen right now, but they did surgery on it and everything. The leftovers are alright too."
"Leftovers?"
"The part of the council that didn't die. They're doing alright."
"Why did you go visit them?"
"I don't know... I guess I grew soft or something."
Ekko snickered, "I'm sure that's what it is."
"It must be. I've never cared that much about a single Topsider in my life."
"It's not about you getting soft, it's about someone growing on you."
"Caitlyn did not grow on me."
"Sure she didn't. Anyway, if you're gonna be a firelight, you need to learn how to get on these hoverboards."
"Thanks, little man, but I think I'm just gonna stick with jumping buildings. It would take me a lifetime to learn those things."
