Addison was over at Liam's house studying as the boy played video games, she was glad that Nick got along with Mason and Liam as they were her world. The hunters have been getting worse each day which was putting a lot of pressure on the pack to stop.
"Your dad at work?" Liam asked as they sat down
"Yeah, they've all been working since the hunters and everyone," Addison responded to the boy
"If the hunters are going after the supernatural then why are you staying there alone?" Nick questioned the girl
"I put a protection spell up when I'm alone to keep me safe," Addison replied before Liam nodded
"And I've been sleeping there or she's been sleeping here where there are grown-ups," Liam added making Addison nod her head
"Have you talked to Stiles lately?" Corey asked making her shake her head
"Not recently but he's just been busy with school and all," Addison spoke picking at her hands
The boys saw how nervous she was talking about the topic so they went back to playing their game as she studied. Her mind was wandering back to her older brother who was away at school. She was sad about how he left but she had her boys to cheer her up.
"Do you swear you weren't cheating?" Mason asked as he lost yet another game
"I swear to god," Liam responded with a laugh
"Fine, one more game," Mason spoke before Liam shook his head
"I have to get back to studying," Liam explained as he grabbed his notebook from Addison
"Uh, you need any help with anything?" Mason questioned the boy who tilted his head
"What, you wanna help me study?" Liam asked as he looked at the boy
"I'm your best friend, I can help you study," Mason spoke in a nonchalant tone
"Nah, go home, dude," Liam suggested making Mason sigh
"Uh... You, you mind if I... I mean, is it cool if..." Mason started to trail off
"What, you wanna stay over?" Nick questioned the boy
"Yeah, is that all right?" Mason asked looking at Liam
"I mean, yeah, if you tell me why," Liam stated crossing his arms
"What do you mean why? Maybe I just wanna hang out," Mason shut down his thoughts
"What about Corey?" Addison asked making them look at her
"Nah, he's at a library study group," Mason answered making her nod
"We haven't had a sleepover since we were 10, what's going on?" Liam asked his best friend
"You remember that body that we found? You know, the one without the face? I can't get it out of my head," Mason explained to the group
"Yeah, me, too," Nick agreed with the boy beside him
"No. Dude, I'm... I mean, I, I literally can't get it out of my head. Do you know what after images are? Uh, you mean, like, when you look at a light bulb and when you look away you still kind of see it? Well, there's this more extreme version called palinopsia. It literally means "seeing again." I mean, the image just stays with you and you see it again and again," Mason explained making Liam sigh
"So, where are you seeing the body?" Liam asked looking at his best friend
