Promise felt like she was in a different reality where everything seemed suspended in time, Xara's presence was surreal. She couldn't believe her best friend was alive.

As Quick walked in with Divine, Xara's features hardened, and her gaze shifted from Promise behind her. Promise followed her gaze, bracing herself for what she would see.

Xara and Promise we're in unison when they spotted who was on Quick's arm.

Promise's jaw clenched at the sight of Divine who was responsible for the premature birth of Opal and Onyx Jr. Anger flared in Promise's chest, and she couldn't believe that he had the audacity to bring Divine, the woman who had caused her so much pain, to her children's birthday party.

Promise couldn't contain the emotions she felt as she walked over to the couple.

Promise felt Xara's hand on her arm. "Promise, don't do anything that you'll regret," Xara warned, concern etched on her face.

Promise shook her head, determination in her eyes. "No, Xara, she deserves to know that she isn't welcome here."

As Promise approached Quick and Divine, she could see the fear in the other woman's eyes, and Quick faltered under Promise's glare. Divine clung to Quick's arm, seeking security in his presence.

"You've got to be either dumb or ignorant to bring the bitch that caused me to go into labor early here," Promise spat, her voice shaking with rage. She locked eyes with Divine, who couldn't meet her gaze. Promise's heart pounded in her chest, the fury she had suppressed for months finally bubbling to the surface. She knew that Quick wasn't single anymore due to him calling the day before asking if he could bring his (girlfriend).
She just didn't know that it was Divine. In her eyes he was sleeping with the enemy, which was nothing short of truth.

Quick opened his mouth to speak, but Promise cut him off. "No, save it. I don't want to hear any excuses. You should've known better than to bring her here."

Divine finally found her voice, stammering, "I-I didn't mean to hurt you, Promise. I'm sorry."

Promise snorted, rolling her eyes. "You're not sorry. You're only sorry you got caught."

Quick pulled Divine closer, trying to shield her from Promise's wrath. "Promise, please," he pleaded. "I didn't come here to cause trouble."

Promise shook her head, her anger unabated. "No," she hissed. "You don't get to just walk away from what you did and pretend that everything's fine. You," she pointed at Divine, "are not welcome here. So get out of my house."

Quick glanced at Divine, his eyes filled with regret, and led her towards the door. The guests, who had been watching the confrontation in silence, swiftly parted to let them pass.

As the door closed behind them, Promise couldn't help but feel a hollow victory. Xara approached her, her features worried. "Promise, are you okay?"

Taking a deep breath, Promise turned to face her long-lost friend. "No, but I will be. There's still so much I need to know, Xara. We need to talk. But first, let's enjoy this party, for my children's sake."
