When Love Has No Bounds

Chapter 2: Daddy and Papa

After an hour nap I woke up to a knock on my door.

'Maybe it's Daddy.'

I sit up in bed.

The door opens and-

'Oh my God! It's...th-them!'

"H-Hello. How are you feeling?", Mugman asked walking into my room.

Cuphead follows behind him, snuffing out a cigarette.

"U-Um...I'm...I feel fine. Thank you f-for asking.", I stammered blushing.

They come closer and Mugman sits on my bed.

"That's good. Me and Cuphead were worried about you.", Mugman smiled.

"O-Oh?? R-Really??", I asked.

They share a confused look and look at me.

"Madi...you're our best friend. No damn we were worried bout ya.", Cup said frowning.

Both boys scoot closer to me with worry-filled eyes.

'So...I'm their best friend?? AWESOME!!!'

"Ey...does your head feel better? Boss said he healed ya.", Cuphead asked curiously, patting my hand.

"Yeah...thanks for asking. W-What exactly happened?"

"Madi...you tripped and dropped all of the drinks, making them break. After you dropped them...you...you fell trying to pick it all up.", Mugs said with a sad voice.

I look at my arms to see bandages galore.

"Well...that explains the bandages.", I say with a small smile.

They share a smile making me smile as well, and then they hug me.

Then they let go and Cup chuckles.

"It's a shame we won't be see'n ya at work for two whole days."

"Cup...it's only two days. Ain't that long."

"It is t'us. You're the one who makes us laugh n' shit. Outta the three of us, you're the one that makes work fun."

"Cuphead...work is not meant to be fun."

"Yeah yeah. Ya'll know what I mean~"

I giggle. Then Mugs grabs Cup by his handle.

"Come on Cuphead, we should let her rest. We'll see her another time."

"Oow! Muugs~Do we gotta??"

"Yes. We have more work to do...or have you forgotten?"

"We'll come visit you later tonight, Madi. Sleep well.", Mugs smiled standing up.

'Aww...really?'

"Oh...okay. See you guys later."

"Bye Madi...we'll see you later. Say goodbye brother."

"Aw...see ya later Madi."

"Bye guys. Hope y'all have a good day."

"Thank you Madi. We hope you do as well."

They leave the room...and once again...my room is completely silent.

~Time Skip~

After another nap, Papa came to escort me to supper, where Daddy is already waiting for us. We made it to the dining room.

"Hey Luci~", Papa smiled.

"Hey Dicey~ Ah...there's my precious little girl~", Daddy smiles.

"Hey Daddy." I smiled standing on my own.

"C'mere~" he cooed with his arms open.

For some reason...as if by instinct...my eyes begin well up with tears, and I run to him.

"DADDY!!!", I cried happily.

He wraps his soft warm arms around me and swings me around.

He stops spinning me around and kisses my head.

"I've missed you my little raven~"

"I missed you too, Daddy."

~Time Skip~

After supper Daddy and Papa took me to my room to tuck me into bed.

I lay back down in my bed.

"Did ya enjoy dinner?", Papa asked, putting the covers on me.

"Mmhm. It was really good." I smiled yawning.

"Gimme kisses sweetheart.", Papa smiled softly.

I kiss both Papa and Daddy on the cheek and they give me a kiss on mine.

"G'night sweetheart~Sweet dreams~", Papa smiled, standing up.

"Night Papa."

"Goodnight sweetie...we love you~", Daddy cooed softly.

"Goodnight Daddy...I...love y'all...too."

And then...I fell asleep.
