"No way!"

"Yep. Nolan Patterson is actually Nolan Patterson, if that makes any sense..."I breathlessly chuckled as I folded my laundry. Nolan's nineteenth birthday party was yesterday and actually, really fun. Nolan stood with me through out the entire party until it was time for me to go home. I was still shocked my the fact he changed, he changed a lot. The last time I had seen him, he was still the same science, book loving, sweet guy I've known forever.

"No that's not possible. That nerdy kid who was always so quiet in second period is actually the complete hottie that transferred from UCLA?" Jenny asked while she laid on my bed with a open magazine before her.

"Yes, he is. I couldn't believe it either. He looks so different from the last time I saw him and that was at graduation." I stated, remembering the graduation speech he gave since he was valedictorian. I also remember me sitting down with sunglasses on and blowing a bubble with my gum, just waiting to get out of there.

"I know! He's like a total babe!" Jenny exclaimed and sat up on my bed. She bit her lip and I could tell she was contemplating in her head.

I furrowed my eyebrows as I placed a freshly cleaned shirt on a hanger "What's wrong?" I asked with a title of the head.

Jenny sighed and fluttered her eyelashes "Aubrey, do you like him? Cause while we were at the party Leah kept talking about how hot he was and how she wanted to talk to him." Jenny stated.

"No Jenny, I barely even know him. If Leah wants him then he's all hers. I feel bad that I took him away from her though." I bit my lip and shook my ponytail. Leah has never liked anyone before or thought anyone was hot, she's always been to busy with school for a relationship. Just to think that I ruined the only crush she's ever had makes me feel horrible.

"Ok just making sure." Jenny stated with a shrug and stood up from my bed, walking around the room and staring at the wall of pictures I had. I continued to hang my clothes while the nice breeze from outside blew my curtains and the pool glistened as the sun shined down. "Do you remember this?" I heard Jenny ask.

I turned around and saw her smiling at a picture I had hung up on the wall. I walked towards the picture and saw that it was the one where we drove to New Mexico one random night for no absolute reason. We were posing by this huge bear statue with sombreros on and our drinks in our hands, completely drunk. "Yeah," I giggled "I remember that night, it was perfect." I stated.

"It was." Jenny smiled, remembering everything stupid we did that night. "That was before-" she cut herself off while her eyes went wide.

"Before what?" I asked, turning to face her and saw her nervous expression.

"Uh-Um-Uh-Before school started. Yes! Uh-I mean before school started, you and the girls wanted to go out for one last adventure before school started again and we started our freshman year of college." she struggled to say while putting her hands on her hips and trying her best to avoid eye contact with me.

I cocked an eyebrow and looked weirdly at Jenny "Ok..." I trailed on and moved away from the board and back to my newly washed clothes. I hummed while putting away my clothes and Jenny suddenly squealed causing my head to snap up. "What?" I asked, looking at Jenny who was now running out of the pool house and into the arms of Kyle who was walking from my driveway. "Of course." I mumbled in disappointment and threw one of my folded shirts on my bed.

I was always the third wheel between Jenny and Kyle. I mean always. No matter what happened, I was always the one that got stuck with those two face eating assholes. Jenny and Kyle made out freely in my backyard while I continued to fold my clothes; that tells how much of a life I have.
