I stared out the window of the huge skyscraper headquarters was held in. I could see everything from up here. Everything was so beautiful. The sun was setting and some of my employees were going home to their families, their girlfriends, their warm homes filled with love while I would be heading home to empty mansion next to the love of my life's house.

I ran my fingers through my hair, tensing up at the thought of Aubrey. I know I said I would try to move on but I can't. I can't let go of her. She was everything to me, you can't forget about your everything. Aubrey also treated me so well. Aubrey always tried to ignore the fact that I'm a criminal so that she could see the real me. Instead of the criminal everyone pictured me as.

She was ready to give up everything for me. Her family, her friends, her freedom, her life, just for me. She always claimed that she would love me forever. The girl even promised me a fucking future. Every time we talked about our future, I always had something to do with her's and she always had something to do in mine.

We wanted to be together forever.

She knew the dangers of being with me but yet she didn't care. Like I said before, she tried her best to ignore the negative about me and my life. But how can you ignore negativity when you are in love with the person who created that word?

I don't even know how Aubrey fell in love with me. I don't know how she did it. But that's Aubrey, she does things that nobody can imagine. She has always been unpredictable. Always has done the unpredictable. She lived for the adrenaline rush. A good girl that has never known danger fell in love with the most dangerous man in the world.

She fell in love with a criminal.

She fell in love with a monster.

She fell in love with a horrible man.

She fell in love with a selfish man.

She fell in love with Jason McCann.

Aubrey fell in love with me.

I clench my fist and my jaw at those thoughts. Anger ran through my veins and I had to resist the urge to throw something at a wall. I should just give up. I mean officially give up. I let Aubrey go for her own good, I shouldn't interfere with her happiness.

I continued to stare at my window with a frown on my face when I heard the voice of my little sister behind me. "Hey Jase." she greeted her soft voice.

I whipped my head around and saw her standing there in a black dress that hugged her body tightly and ended at her knees. Her brown hair was straight and no makeup was applied to her naturally beautiful face. She had a burgundy Michael Kors purse in front of her legs and had on expensive jewelry Aubrey and I had bought her for Christmas. A big smile came over my face and walked towards her "Hey Megan."

Megan is still doing the exact same thing. She still goes to the university and is studying to be a doctor. Still has the highest grades and still manages to fit my idiotic best friend, who happens to be her boyfriend, into her busy schedule. I wrapped my arms around her tiny frame and kissed her cheek while she giggled into my ear and rubbed my back "How have you been Jase?" Megan asked.

I pulled away from her and stared into the same hazel eyes that I share with her and Mom. Her eyes filled with concern and she waited patiently for me to answer her question. I know that if I refused to answer her she would still bug me to know how I have actually been. "I've been ok." I lied with a slight smile on my face. I turned around and walked back to my desk while clearing my throat. "Uh-How have you been?" I asked, taking a seat.
